To install ZomBerry Admin Tools, install its required dependency, Community Framework (CF), copy both mod folders to the DayZ server, enable them in the server’s -mod parameter, and place both signing keys in the server’s Keys directory. Start the server once to create ZomBerry’s profile files, then add each administrator’s Steam64 UID to <ServerProfilesFolder>ZomBerryadmins.cfg and restart. Hosted-server customers follow the same sequence through the provider’s Workshop installer, mod controls, and file manager or FTP.
What you need before installing
ZomBerry Admin Tools is a server-side DayZ mod that depends on Community Framework. Both components must be installed and loaded together; installing only ZomBerry will not produce a working setup.

You also need permission to stop and restart the server. A restart is required after changing the administrator list, and a first launch is required before that list can be edited in the expected location.
How the installation is laid out
The installation has four separate parts, and each one has a different job:

- Mod folders:
@CFand@ZomBerry Admin Toolscontain the mod data that the server loads. -modparameter: tells DayZ which folders to load at startup.Keysdirectory: stores the signing keys that allow the server to validate the installed mod packages.- Profiles directory: contains ZomBerry’s generated configuration, including
ZomBerryadmins.cfg.
These locations are independent. A mod can be present on disk but inactive if it is absent from -mod; it can be listed in -mod but fail validation if its key is missing; and the server can load successfully while still denying you access if the administrator file is in the wrong profiles directory.
Install ZomBerry on a self-hosted DayZ server
1. Subscribe to both Workshop items
Subscribe to Community Framework and ZomBerry Admin Tools in the Steam Workshop. The installation discussion identifies CF as Workshop item 1559212036 and ZomBerry as 1582756848. Installing both from the same client makes it easier to keep their folder contents current before copying them to the server.
2. Initialize the Workshop downloads
Start the DayZ Launcher once after subscribing. This allows the Workshop items to initialize and update on the client. Do not copy a partially downloaded folder. Wait until the launcher has finished its normal Workshop update activity, then locate the client’s Workshop mod directory.
Copy, rather than cut, the folders named @CF and @ZomBerry Admin Tools. Keeping the client copies gives you a source for later updates and preserves the local Workshop installation if the server copy needs to be replaced.
3. Copy both mod folders to the server root
Paste the two folders into the DayZ server root, normally the directory named DayZServer. After copying, the server root should contain both mod directories alongside the server executable and other normal server files. Do not place one mod inside the other, and do not copy only the contents of a mod folder while omitting its top-level folder name.

4. Add both mods to the startup command
Edit the startup shortcut, batch file, service definition, or management tool that launches DayZ. Add both folders to the server’s -mod launch parameter. The documented format is:

-mod=@CF;@ZomBerry Admin Tools;Keep the semicolon separators and the folder names exactly as they appear on disk. If your existing command already contains other mods, append these entries to the same -mod value rather than creating a second conflicting -mod parameter. The command must point to the folders in the server root; Workshop subscription alone does not enable a mod on a dedicated server.
5. Install the signing keys
Open the Keys subfolder inside each mod and copy the following files into the server’s own Keys folder:

Copy the files; do not leave them only in the mod directories. The server checks the keys in its central Keys location when clients and server content are authenticated. If an update replaces a key file, copy the updated key again so the server’s key set matches the installed mod versions.
6. Launch the server once before editing configuration
Start the server with both mods enabled and allow it to complete one startup. ZomBerry uses this first run to generate its files and establish the profile location. The profiles directory is determined by the server’s profile configuration; a Workshop discussion notes that it is generated when the server is started with a -profiles=... argument.

Stop the server after the first successful startup if you need to edit files while it is offline. Do not create an admins.cfg in an arbitrary directory and assume ZomBerry will find it; use the profile path that the running server actually uses.
7. Add administrators to admins.cfg
Navigate to:
<ServerProfilesFolder>ZomBerryadmins.cfgEnter one administrator’s Steam64 UID (also referred to as a BIGUID in the installation discussion) per line. Use the complete numeric identifier, with no display name, quotation marks, commas, or additional labels. For multiple administrators, place each UID on its own line.
The file is an allowlist: an identity is authorized because its UID appears in this file. Keep the file in the ZomBerry subfolder under the active profiles directory, not under the server root, the client Workshop directory, or a different profile path used by another server instance.
8. Restart and verify access
Save the file, start the server again, and connect with an account whose UID was added. A restart is necessary for the edited administrator list to be read. If the panel or in-game interface still says that no administrator is configured, work through the troubleshooting checks below before changing other files.
Install ZomBerry on a hosted DayZ server
Managed providers use different panel labels, but the required sequence is the same. The provider must expose three capabilities: Workshop installation, mod activation, and access to the server’s keys and profiles files.

1. Install the Workshop items through the provider
Open the provider’s Workshop installer and add item 1559212036 for Community Framework and item 1582756848 for ZomBerry Admin Tools. Some panels display names instead of IDs; verify that the selected entries correspond to CF and ZomBerry rather than relying only on a similar-looking title.
2. Enable the installed mods
Installation and activation may be separate operations. Use the panel’s command-line manager, mod toggle, or startup-parameter selector to enable both mods. The resulting configuration must be equivalent to:
-mod=@CF;@ZomBerry Admin Tools;If the provider automatically generates the parameter, inspect the active mod list or launch-parameter view and confirm that both entries are present. A successful Workshop download without an active launch entry leaves ZomBerry unavailable to the server.
3. Copy or confirm the keys
Use the provider’s file manager or FTP account to inspect the server’s Keys directory. Confirm that Vaker.bikey and JacobMango.bikey are present there. If the provider’s installer copies keys automatically, you still need to verify the result because providers differ in how they handle mod signing files.
4. Start once, then edit the generated file
Launch the server once after enabling both mods. This creates the ZomBerry files under the active profiles location. Stop the server if the panel requires offline editing, then locate ZomBerryadmins.cfg below that profiles directory and add one Steam64 UID per line.

Use the panel’s restart action after saving. If FTP or the file manager shows several profiles directories, match the one selected by the server’s -profiles launch setting rather than editing the newest-looking folder.

Fix the “no admin configured” message
When ZomBerry does not recognize an administrator, check the items in this order:
- Confirm the active profiles path. Read the server’s
-profiles=...setting and open theZomBerryadmins.cfgbelow that exact directory. - Confirm the filename and folders. The path must end in
ZomBerryadmins.cfg. Check spelling, capitalization, and the backslash-separated folder structure. - Confirm the UID format. Each line must contain the administrator’s Steam64 UID/BIGUID, not a Steam display name or a shorter account identifier.
- Remove formatting characters. Delete quotation marks, commas, labels, and accidental spaces or blank text before and after the numeric UID.
- Confirm that the server was started once. If ZomBerry has never run, its expected profile folder may not exist yet.
- Restart after saving. Editing the file while the server is running does not replace the required restart.
ZomBerry’s source includes an installation mode that checks whether admins.cfg exists, reports its path, can create it in the proper location, and attempts to insert the authenticated administrator identity ID. That diagnostic behavior can help identify a path or identity problem, but the server still has to be restarted after the final file change.

Choose self-hosting when you need unrestricted access to launch parameters and files. Choose a provider when you want the host to handle the Windows and server environment, provided the panel exposes Workshop item installation, mod activation, keys, and profiles access.
Updating without breaking the installation
ZomBerry and CF are Workshop projects, so their files can change independently of the DayZ server. Before updating, stop the server and preserve a copy of the working admins.cfg, the current launch parameter, and the two key files. Update both mods as a matched set, copy the new folders into the server root, and copy the current keys into the server’s Keys directory. Then start the server and check the generated profile location if the provider or launch configuration changed.

It is useful for a self-hosted Windows installation when you want repeatable update and startup operations instead of manually replacing folders.
The project README describes ZomBerry as being in an “early testing stage” and asks users to include the game version when reporting issues. The repository source currently defines g_zbryVer = "0.6.4". That value identifies the repository snapshot; it is not a guarantee that the current Workshop build has the same version. Check the Workshop entry and your installed DayZ version before deploying an update.
