You can connect the RollingGo hotel MCP server to Claude Desktop, Cursor, or Cline by adding its remote endpoint and Bearer credential, then confirming the client invokes searchHotels. A tutorial published September 14, 2026, says setup takes about five minutes; that is the author’s estimate, not a measured guarantee. The endpoint, authentication method, client labels, and file paths can change, so confirm current details with the provider and your installed client before relying on them. Source: the tutorial.
What the hotel MCP server provides
The September 14, 2026 tutorial describes RollingGo Hotel MCP as a remote service with five tools. These are the tutorial’s descriptions and have not been independently confirmed against current RollingGo documentation:
searchHotelssearches for hotel candidates and returns display rates.getHotelDetailprovides room types, rate plans, cancellation terms, and child policies.getHotelSearchTagsreturns valid search tags.searchAirportsprovides airport and city codes.searchFlightssearches flight options.
The tutorial lists https://mcp.rollinggo.ai/mcp as the hotel endpoint and https://mcp.rollinggo.ai/mcp/flight as the flight endpoint. It says to obtain an API key from the provider and send it as a Bearer token. Confirm the current endpoint and required authentication with the provider; these are service-specific settings that may change.
Before you configure a client
- Get the API key from the service provider. The tutorial’s example uses a key beginning with
mcp_; do not treat that example as a real credential. - Confirm the current hotel endpoint and authentication requirements.
- Have a future check-in date and a valid destination ready for your first search.
- Keep the key private. Do not commit a configuration file containing a live credential to a shared repository.
The examples below follow the tutorial’s remote-URL and Authorization-header pattern. Use it only if the provider currently supports that transport and header format.

Connect the hotel server in Claude Desktop
The tutorial describes adding a remote HTTP MCP server through Claude Desktop’s settings. The exact interface can vary by app version.
- Open Claude Desktop and go to Settings → MCP Servers.
- Add a remote server using
https://mcp.rollinggo.ai/mcpas the URL. - Add an
Authorizationheader with a value in this form:Bearer mcp_your_key_here. Replace the example with your actual provider-issued key; retain theBearerprefix and the space after it. - Save the server configuration, fully quit and restart Claude Desktop, and begin a new conversation.
- Ask for hotels in a destination for future dates. Check that Claude actually invokes
searchHotels, rather than just answering without using the server.
The tutorial also shows a remote JSON configuration with a URL and headers, but its UI route may differ across versions. Microsoft’s general host guide describes a claude_desktop_config.json pattern, platform-specific file locations, and a full restart to apply changes; it is general Claude host guidance, not confirmation of RollingGo-specific settings. Add the server to Cursor
Cursor supports custom MCP server configuration through mcp.json. Its documentation identifies these configuration scopes:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →- Project:
.cursor/mcp.jsonin the project directory. - Global:
~/.cursor/mcp.jsonin your home directory.
Add a server entry using the provider-confirmed URL and authentication fields. The tutorial’s example uses a URL and an Authorization header, but Cursor also supports other connection and authentication patterns; choose the one supported by the service. See Cursor’s MCP documentation for its current configuration guidance.
- Create or edit the project or global
mcp.jsonfile. - Enter the remote server URL and required authentication fields. If using the tutorial’s Bearer pattern, the header value is
Bearer mcp_your_key_here, replaced with your actual key. - Save the file and use Cursor’s MCP controls to make the server available.
- In Agent mode, request a hotel search for a future date and confirm the tool-use indicator shows
searchHotels.
Cursor’s documentation covers remote URL entries, headers, OAuth, and local stdio configurations. Do not assume every server accepts all of these methods.
Configure the server in Cline
The tutorial identifies Cline’s configuration file as cline_mcp_settings.json and gives example global-storage paths that vary by operating system. Because those paths can change with extension versions, use the Cline MCP settings or panel in your installed version to locate the correct configuration rather than relying on an unverified path.

- Close VS Code before editing the settings file, as the tutorial advises.
- Add the server using the provider-confirmed URL, HTTP transport, and required authentication. The tutorial’s example uses an Authorization Bearer header.
- Save the settings and reopen VS Code.
- Open Cline’s MCP panel and check whether the server reports a green status.
- Ask Cline to search hotels for a future date and verify that it invokes
searchHotels.
The green status is a useful connection check, but an actual tool invocation is stronger evidence that the integration can perform a search.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsHow to verify the connection and interpret results
Saving a configuration file or seeing a connected indicator alone does not demonstrate that a hotel search works. Ask the client to search a real destination for future dates, then inspect its tool activity for searchHotels. The tutorial recommends valid future dates and matching the destination to the expected place type—for example, do not label a landmark as a city.
Treat search output as candidate information, not a confirmed booking price. The tutorial warns that a displayed search rate may differ from the live bookable rate and recommends calling getHotelDetail before presenting a final price. It also notes that totalPrice: 0 does not necessarily mean a stay is free. Verify the current rate, room, and terms before communicating booking details.
Troubleshoot common connection and search problems
- The server does not connect: Recheck the endpoint with the provider, confirm that the client supports the server’s transport, and verify the header name and format. In the tutorial’s example, the authorization value must include
Bearer, followed by a space and the key. - The client shows connected, but no tool runs: Start a new request that clearly requires a hotel search and check the tool activity. In Claude Desktop, the tutorial advises a full app restart and a new conversation after saving.
- The search returns no hotels: Check that the dates are in the future and that the destination and place type match. These are troubleshooting findings reported by the tutorial, not independently tested guarantees.
- The price looks wrong or is zero: Do not assume a display rate is bookable or that a zero total means a free stay. Fetch the hotel details and confirm live booking terms.
- Cline does not load the configuration: Check the settings location for your installed extension version, then restart VS Code as the tutorial recommends.
What the tutorial’s coverage figures mean
The same tutorial makes several scale claims, which should be understood as source-attributed figures rather than independently audited statistics:
- RollingGo is described as covering 200M+ properties globally and having 110K+ directly contracted hotels; the tutorial gives no separate measurement date beyond its September 14, 2026 publication.
- The tutorial reports 500+ suppliers across 100+ countries, likewise attributed to RollingGo and without an independently specified measurement date.
- The article author reports 760K+ MCP calls and 2,500+ downloads as of September 14, 2026.
These figures and the five-minute setup estimate come from the tutorial, not an independent performance or coverage assessment. They are not necessary to configure or verify the client connection.
