Choose a layout. Depending on the model and available options, you can select an analog or digital clock style and decide where the time appears. Garmin describes optional data such as steps, heart rate, and battery life; the choices vary by device and app version.
-
Add any available complications (data fields) you want, position them, and save the design. Give the face a name, then tap Install. Garmin says installation initiates a sync through Garmin Connect to transfer the face to the watch.

Check compatibility and Always On Display first
Face It is not available for every Garmin fitness device. Check the current Connect IQ Store app for your exact watch model, since supported devices and available design options can change. A face that is installed for one model—or a tutorial showing another model’s menus—does not guarantee identical choices on yours.
Garmin support states that custom Face It faces are not compatible with the Always On Display setting. If you rely on the watch showing its face continuously, check your model’s settings and manual before switching to a Face It design. See Garmin’s Always On Display guidance.

Photo faces versus built-in face customization
Changing a built-in face’s colors or data fields is not necessarily the same as using your own photo. For example, the Instinct E owner’s manual describes customizing available built-in face data and background color, and separately refers to installed Connect IQ faces. That is an example for the Instinct E, not a universal Garmin menu path. Use Face It when the goal is a personal photo, and consult your own watch manual for selecting or managing installed faces.
Optional alternative: third-party photo faces
The Connect IQ Store also lists Photo Pro, a third-party photo watch face. Its current listing describes one photo at a time in the basic free selection and additional options in paid tiers. Check the listing for current compatibility, features, and terms before installing; Photo Pro is an alternative, not a purchase required to use Garmin Face It.
