The March of Giants Pioneer Playtest is scheduled to open on Steam at 10 a.m. EDT on October 7, 2026, and run through October 18, 2026. New players need to request access on the game’s Steam page and wait for Steam to grant it; players from the September 2025 Closed Alpha are included automatically. Both groups need Ubisoft Connect and a Ubisoft Account to play.
When does the March of Giants playtest start and end?
Ubisoft’s dedicated Pioneer Playtest announcement lists the test as running from October 7 through October 18, 2026, with access opening at 10 a.m. EDT on October 7. These are scheduled dates, not confirmation that the test has already opened.
There is a date inconsistency in Ubisoft Montréal’s March of Giants article: one section gives October 7–18, while another says October 7–19. Ubisoft does not explain the discrepancy. The dedicated playtest announcement gives October 18 as the end date, so use that as the stated schedule while recognizing the conflict.

- Open the March of Giants page on Steam and select Request Access in the playtest section.
- Wait for Steam to grant access. Steam should notify you when it is available.
- Once access is granted, find March of Giants in your Steam Library and download it.
- Install or open Ubisoft Connect and sign in with a Ubisoft Account to play.
Ubisoft says invitations are intended to remain open during the test, but requests may pause if access needs to be scaled for server capacity. If Request Access is unavailable, check the Steam page again later rather than assuming the playtest has permanently closed.

If you played the September 2025 Closed Alpha
Returning Closed Alpha participants are included automatically; they should not expect a new Steam access notification. When the playtest opens, check the Steam Library for the download. Ubisoft Connect and a Ubisoft Account are still required.
Who can participate?
The announced access is regional, not worldwide. Ubisoft lists the United States, Canada, Mexico, Ukraine, Norway, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and supported European countries. Its announcement describes servers for North America and supported European countries, and lists English, French, German, and Spanish as available languages. Check Ubisoft’s announcement for the applicable country list and any changes before requesting access.

How Pioneer status and rewards work
Completed PvP matches award Pioneer Points: a win is worth 100 points and a loss is worth 50. Reach 1,000 points to become a Pioneer and qualify for the listed rewards. Ubisoft says you earn no points if you leave before a match ends; PvE and custom games do not count.

Ubisoft offers a 20% Pioneer Point boost through either of two routes:

The routes provide the same boost and do not stack. Ubisoft lists a permanent Pandemos unlock, a Pioneer Medal, and a free Early Access Pack among the rewards for qualifying players. The playtest announcement says the Early Access date has not yet been announced.
Can you stream or share playtest footage?
Yes. Ubisoft says this playtest has no NDA or watermark, and participants may stream, record, and share gameplay.

What kind of game is March of Giants?
Ubisoft describes March of Giants as a free-to-play 4v4 MOBA. In a recent vision post, the team described changes including an expanded role for Soldiers, more Battleworks interaction and counterplay, greater importance for spaces between lanes, expanded itemization, new Giants, and updates to the map, interface, visuals, animations, and game clarity.
