BLK works by showing you a personalized feed of profiles: swipe right or tap the heart to express interest, or swipe left or tap X to pass. When two people like each other, they match and can chat in the app. BLK says you can keep using the service without a subscription; paid tiers add features such as more likes, rewinds, filters, and ways to contact someone before matching.

What should you know about profile privacy and safety?
Choose profile details deliberately
BLK says users choose whether to share sensitive information, which can include sexual orientation, gender identity, race or ethnicity, political opinions, and religious beliefs. Information you put in a public profile is visible to other BLK users. BLK says you can update your profile or close your account to stop sharing information.

Keep identifying information private
BLK’s safety guidance advises against sharing details such as your Social Security number, home or work address, or predictable daily routine with people you do not know. It also warns that someone with bad intentions may try to move a conversation quickly to text, email, phone, or another messaging service. Staying in the app does not guarantee safety, so use your judgment about what you share and when you meet.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsWhy might the features in your app differ?
BLK’s Help Center says some updates are being tested with a smaller group before a wider release. One described change lets users view all likes without a subscription, but the testing notice means that feature is not established as available to everyone. BLK also says it is removing the social tab that let users choose between finding friends and dating, and moving a control to the profile-edit page. Availability can depend on rollout, so check the controls and subscription details in your current app.
