Server Culling is an announced RICOCHET Anti-Cheat feature for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 that aims to limit what wallhacks can reveal by withholding hidden-opponent location data from a player’s hardware. That is a change in how information is delivered, not proof that wallhacks have been eliminated. The announcement describes the intended design and map coverage, but provides no effectiveness figures or independent test results.
How Server Culling is supposed to work
In its October 2, 2026 announcement, Call of Duty described Server Culling as a way to withhold opponent location data from a player’s hardware when that player should not have access to it. The stated aim is to reduce the information cheat software can expose to someone using a wallhack.
The distinction is important: the feature is described as controlling what information reaches a player’s device. It is not presented as a way to detect every cheat, nor does the announcement establish that hidden opponents will never be exposed. GamingTrend’s October 2 report reproduces the announcement, but is not an independent technical test.

The announcement describes this as planned coverage, not independently verified deployment. Its stated scope is:
#1 Best Overall
- Blazing-fast WiFi 7 boosts tri-band throughput up to 12000 Mbps with 320 MHz channels of 6 GHz band, Multi-Link Operation (MLO) and 4K-QAM
- Powerful wired network capacity of up to 20G with one 2.5G WAN port and seven 2.5G LAN ports.
- High-performance quad-core 2.0GHz CPU with robust cooling, 2GB RAM and eight internal antennas providing up to 3000 sq. ft. of range.
- Smart Home Master makes it easy to set up functional subnetwork (up to 3 SSIDs) for IoT devices and VPNs
- ROG-exclusive Gaming Network streamlines Triple-Level Game Acceleration setup and connections through convenient SSIDs
- At launch: every map available at launch, including DMZ and Combat Outpost.
- From Season 1 onward: new live-season maps for Multiplayer, DMZ, and Call of Duty: Warzone.
The announcement does not provide technical details about how the feature handles individual gameplay situations or how coverage is verified.
How Server Culling fits with RICOCHET Anti-Cheat
Server Culling is an information-control measure: its stated purpose is to keep certain hidden-opponent data from reaching a player’s hardware. Activision’s broader RICOCHET policy describes other functions, including client- and server-side detection, monitoring applications running during gameplay, behavioral anomaly detection, and hardware-integrity checks. These approaches have different roles; the policy does not establish that one is more effective than another.

- Beyond-fast WiFi 7 (802.11be) with new 320MHz channels in the 6 GHz band and 4096-QAM significantly increases network capacity and throughput, with speeds of up to 30 Gbps
- Multi-link Operation links to multiple bands at the same time to ensure stable internet connections and efficient data transfers
- Cutting-edge external dual-feeding antennas boost coverage by providing high efficiency and significantly enhanced signal strength
- Maximized wired connectivity and flexibility with dual 10G ports and quad 2.5G ports
- Triple-Level Game Acceleration - The GT-BE98 Pro boosts your PC gaming traffic every step of the way, from your PC gaming port all the way to the game server.
Activision’s policy applies its security rules to Call of Duty titles from Modern Warfare (2019) onward and expressly lists wallhacks among unauthorized cheating software. The policy is presented on an Italian regional page; its displayed date is August 14, 2026. Read Activision’s security and enforcement policy.

No such result is established. The announcement states a design goal—reduce cheat software’s access to hidden-opponent location data—but neither it nor the policy provides measured efficacy, a false-positive rate, a latency impact, or independent test results for Server Culling. It is therefore too strong to say the feature eliminates wallhacks or makes cheating impossible.

What can be said is narrower: Call of Duty has announced another RICOCHET layer intended to limit one kind of information that wallhacks could expose, alongside the detection and enforcement measures described in Activision’s policy. How well it works in practice is not established by the cited material.
