No Law and Cyberpunk 2077 share a cyberpunk setting, but the announced games have different emphases: Neon Giant presents No Law as a dense, first-person shooter built around flexible approaches to combat, while Cyberpunk 2077 is a released open-world action-adventure RPG centered on V’s story, character development, and life in Night City. How their open worlds are meant to differ
No Law: density and encounter spaces
Neon Giant’s reveal describes Port Desire through contrasts between districts and interiors: vertically stacked slums, open thoroughfares and courtyards, and more luxurious spaces with vents, service passages, and hackable systems. The pitch is not simply a city to traverse; it is a place whose layout is meant to affect how players approach an encounter.

In an interview with PC Gamer, Neon Giant leads Arcade Berg and Tor Frick emphasized density rather than acreage, including not trying to match Cyberpunk 2077’s world size. That is a statement of design priority, not a published map measurement. The sources provide no comparable area figures for either game, so a claim that one world is objectively larger cannot be supported.
Cyberpunk 2077: a released city with multiple kinds of play
Cyberpunk 2077’s official descriptions frame Night City as an open-world setting for exploration, jobs, relationships, and V’s story. Its world is part of a broader role-playing structure: the player develops a character and makes choices intended to affect the story and surrounding world. The comparison is therefore less about which city has more streets and more about how each game connects its spaces to play.

Combat, stealth, and player choice
No Law’s reveal foregrounds tactical encounters. The studio says players can choose stealth or loud combat, manipulate security and patrols, and respond to enemies that react to sound, sightlines, and pressure. These are announced intentions for a game in development; the reveal does not establish how reliably those systems work in play.
Cyberpunk 2077 offers a broader RPG action framework. Its Update 2.0 changed several core systems, including skill trees, perks, cyberware, enemy AI, and police response, while adding vehicle combat and chases. Those update details matter when comparing gameplay: describing the released game solely through its original launch-era systems would miss documented changes to combat and progression.

Progression and narrative: what is known about No Law
PC Gamer’s December 2025 interview report says the developers described experience points, skill trees, and specializations such as lockpicking, hacking, and weapon expertise. It also reports their interest in missions and characters responding to how a player acts, as well as multiple endings. Treat these as reported design plans rather than a final feature list.
Cyberpunk 2077 has a released story in which V’s choices and character development are part of the game’s role-playing structure. CD PROJEKT RED’s Update 2.0 announcement documents redesigned skills and perks, but neither that material nor the No Law interview supports reducing the two games’ narrative systems to a simple claim that one offers more choice.
