To check your lifetime Pokémon GO catch total, tap your Trainer portrait on the Map View and look under Total Activity on your Trainer Profile. A current guide identifies that section as the place to see Pokémon caught; Niantic’s help page describes Total Activity as account activity but does not explicitly name a catch-total field. If you mean how many different species you have registered, check the Pokédex instead.
Find your lifetime catch total

Find Total Activity and check the figures shown there. Niantic describes this as part of the Trainer Profile, while a current third-party guide identifies it as the location of the lifetime Pokémon-caught total. Niantic’s Trainer Profile help does not explicitly label a catch-count field in its text.

Catch total or Pokédex progress?
These are two different measures. A catch total concerns individual catches over your account’s history; the Pokédex tracks Pokémon you have seen and caught by species. Niantic says, “The Pokédex keeps track of the Pokémon you’ve seen and caught.” Open it from Main Menu → Pokédex. Caught species appear in color, while species you have seen but not caught appear as silhouettes. The Pokédex also organizes entries by region and includes separate categories such as Shiny, Lucky, and Gigantamax. Niantic’s Pokédex guide
Can friends see your catch count?
Niantic says friends can see the number of Pokémon caught by opening your Trainer Profile from the Friend List. You can turn off the setting that lets friends see which Pokémon you have caught in Settings. This changes visibility to friends; it does not delete or change your catch history. What the Explorer Gadget catch summary shows
The Explorer Gadget can provide a summary of Pokémon caught while using that feature, but it is not the documented way to check your account’s lifetime catch total. Niantic described the feature as being in phased rollout and listed eligibility conditions, including Trainer level 20 or higher and no accessory device actively connected. Availability and requirements may change, so check the current in-game information and Niantic’s Explorer Gadget announcement if you are trying to use it.
