A private lobby in the original Among Us can hold up to 15 players. Innersloth lists the original game as supporting 4–15 players online or over local Wi-Fi. The separate game Among Us 3D has a smaller stated range of 4–10 players.
How many players can join a private Among Us game?
The original Among Us supports 4–15 players, including online and local Wi-Fi play, according to Innersloth’s current game page. That means a group of 15 can play together in one lobby; a larger group would need to split into multiple games.
Fifteen-player lobbies launched in June 2021. Innersloth announced the feature on June 16, 2021, but its current product page is the better reference for the supported range today. Read the 2021 announcement.
How do you set up a private lobby?
- Choose Play, then Online.
- Select Create Game.
- Choose the game mode, map, tags, server region, chat type, and chat language. Set the lobby capacity during creation.
- Create the lobby and share its code with your friends.
- When friends enter the code, they can review details such as the host, capacity, region, and chat type before joining.

Does the 15-player limit apply to Among Us 3D?
No. Among Us 3D is a separate game with a stated range of 4–10 players, and Innersloth says it is not compatible with the original Among Us. Its player limit should not be confused with the original game’s 15-player cap. Innersloth’s Among Us 3D page lists its range. The 3D game’s crossplay between its PC and VR versions does not make it compatible with the original title.
Can console players join a 15-player lobby?
Yes. Innersloth says the Xbox and PlayStation releases support online lobbies of 4–15 players and crossplay. The company’s console launch announcement confirms those details.

The supported player range does not guarantee that every individual lobby will connect without issues; it describes the game’s stated capacity.
