You can add multiple Philips Hue Bridges to one Hue Home and control their lights in the Hue app. Philips Hue’s public setup guide does not state a maximum number, so it does not support a specific numeric limit—or a claim that the number is unlimited.
What multiple Hue Bridges do—and do not—combine
Philips Hue’s Multi-Bridge feature lets you bring Bridges together under one account and Home. Rooms and Zones from those Bridges can appear together in the Hue app’s Home tab, giving you a consolidated view of the lights. The app displays one Home at a time; if you organize different locations as separate Homes, you must switch between them. Philips Hue’s setup guide describes the feature and its account organization.
A shared app view does not make the Bridges a single feature-unified system. Philips Hue documents limits for functions that span Bridges: automations, accessories, and Entertainment areas cannot control lights across different Bridges. An Entertainment area cannot include lights connected to more than one Bridge. See Philips Hue’s Multi-Bridge FAQ for current details.
How to organize Bridges in one account
- Decide whether the Bridges serve one location or separate locations. For a single location, you can assign multiple Bridges to one Home. For distinct locations, Philips Hue says you can keep them in separate accounts or create a separate Home for each location under one account.
- Use the current Hue app setup flow to add or consolidate Bridges. App instructions and labels can change, so follow the current in-app steps rather than relying on an old menu path.
- Check which Bridges belong to a Home. Philips Hue’s guide points to Settings, then My Homes, to confirm the Bridges assigned to a Home.
- Check subscriptions before moving a Bridge. A Bridge with a linked subscription, such as a Secure plan or Sync TV app subscription, cannot currently be moved through the consolidation process described in the guide.
Check these limits before adding another Bridge
Automations, accessories, and Entertainment areas
If you need an automation, accessory, or Entertainment area to act across lights on different Bridges, the documented Bridge-specific limits may prevent that setup. Decide whether your planned controls can be divided by Bridge before expanding.

Voice assistants and other integrations
Voice control depends on the partner integration. Philips Hue says relinking an integration may be needed in some situations, and partner behavior differs. Check the current instructions for the specific voice assistant or platform you use; do not assume that adding Bridges to one Home automatically makes every integration control all of them.
Device capacity is not a Home-wide Bridge limit
The number of lights and accessories a particular Bridge model supports is a separate question from how many Bridges Hue lets you assign to a Home. Philips Hue’s Bridge FAQ provides model-capacity context, but its public setup guidance does not give a numeric maximum for Bridges per Home. Check the current product information for your specific Bridge model rather than treating its device capacity as a limit on Bridges.

When a second Bridge makes sense
Consider another Bridge when your setup needs additional hub capacity, but weigh that need against the feature boundaries between Bridges. Before buying or moving hardware, check the capacity and compatibility information for the Bridge model you plan to use, whether its lights need to work together in automations or Entertainment areas, and whether any linked subscription or voice-assistant integration will be affected.
