A PS5 has one HDMI port, on the rear of the console and labeled HDMI OUT. It sends audio and video to a TV or monitor; it is not an HDMI input and cannot connect directly to two displays at once.
Where is the PS5 HDMI port, and what does it do?
Look at the back of the console for the port labeled HDMI OUT. PlayStation’s parts diagrams show one such port for the CFI-1000 and CFI-2000/2100/7000 model groups. Other rear connectors can appear in different positions between groups, so follow the HDMI OUT label rather than assuming the port order is identical. PlayStation’s parts guide identifies the illustrated ports.
HDMI OUT sends the PS5’s picture and sound to a display’s HDMI IN port. It does not accept a video signal from another device. For basic setup, connect the included HDMI cable between those two ports, then connect the console’s AC cable to its rear AC IN connector. PlayStation’s setup instructions show this connection sequence.

Not directly from the console: it has only one HDMI output. To use a second display, you would need a separate HDMI switch or splitter, which is external equipment and does not add another port to the PS5. A switch lets you choose which connected display receives the signal; a splitter is intended to send one source to multiple displays. Their behavior and supported picture features depend on the specific device and displays.

Does the single port support 4K at 120Hz?
Yes. PlayStation says PS5 supports HDMI 2.1 specifications and 4K 120Hz output. To use those features, the connected display and its relevant HDMI input must support them as well. PlayStation recommends using an HDMI 2.1-capable TV input when available. Its resolution guidance also covers related settings.
The console comes with an HDMI cable for setup. A replacement is optional if the supplied cable is missing or damaged; PlayStation recommends the included cable for ALLM, while a compatible Ultra High Speed HDMI cable that supports HDMI 2.1 should also support ALLM. Buying another cable will not increase the number of HDMI ports. PlayStation’s guidance describes the cable requirements.

- Use the TV or monitor controls to select the HDMI input connected to the console.
- If possible, try a different HDMI input on the display or a different cable.
