Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse takes about 20–25 hours for a solid completion run. That is a developer-attributed estimate reported by an unofficial fan FAQ, not a runtime statistic published by Konami. The game launched on October 15, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Steam. A Midnight Edition is sold physically and digitally; the Standard Edition is digital.
What the 20–25-hour estimate actually means
The available figure describes a “solid completion run.” It is useful for planning time, but it should not be treated as a guaranteed campaign length for every player. The estimate comes from an unofficial fan FAQ that attributes it to the developer. Konami’s official product and launch pages do not publish a separate main-story runtime, an average playtime from a tracking database or a formal completion-time target.
There is also no substantiated official split between a story-only playthrough and 100% completion. A player who explores more thoroughly, experiments with equipment or spends longer learning boss patterns can take more time than the estimate, while an experienced action-game player following a direct route may finish sooner. “Completion” therefore should not be read as a promise that every collectible, challenge or optional objective is included.

These ranges are most useful when deciding whether the game fits a holiday, a weekend schedule or a longer evening-based playthrough. They do not indicate how many stages, bosses or missions the game contains.
What the demo information tells you
The same FAQ describes a 15–30-minute demo. That duration is separate from the full-game estimate and should not be multiplied to predict the campaign length. It is best understood as a short introduction for judging the movement, combat and exploration feel before buying.

Konami describes Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse as an exploration-based 2D action game developed jointly by Konami and Evil Empire, with advisory support from Motion Twin. The setting is Paris in 1499, 23 years after the events of Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse.

Combat, bosses and progression systems
- Whip traversal: The Vampire Killer is used for more than ordinary attacks; Konami specifically highlights whip-based movement and traversal.
- Boss encounters: The named examples on the official page include Death, Medusa, Carmilla and Joan of Arc.
- Arcana: Tarot-card abilities form a dedicated ability system that affects how Rose approaches encounters and exploration.
- Equipment customization: Weapons and relics can be customized, giving the combat and exploration systems more flexibility than a single fixed loadout.
Those systems help explain why a “solid completion run” is more informative than a bare story-time claim: route choice, combat familiarity and experimentation can all affect the hours needed.
Every supported platform
Konami’s official product page lists the following platforms. The launch announcement uses the combined label Xbox Series X|S and also identifies Xbox on PC and Steam for computer players.

The official release date was October 15, 2026. Konami’s launch announcement says the game released on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Steam on that date. Store pages can still display different regional availability, language information or delivery dates, so check the storefront serving your account before purchasing.

Standard versus Midnight Edition
Konami identifies two editions. The Standard Edition is a digital version of the game. The Midnight Edition is available both physically and digitally and adds a digital gallery plus three in-game bonuses.

The Midnight extras are content additions rather than a separate campaign. The official description does not state that the edition changes the 20–25-hour completion estimate. If you only want the game itself and prefer the lowest-content option, Standard supplies the base release digitally. If you want a boxed copy or the listed gallery and bonuses, Midnight is the relevant edition.
Physical availability
Midnight is the edition Konami identifies as having a physical version. The product page includes shopping links for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch and retailer links for Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart and Target. Inventory, price and regional eligibility are not fixed by the product page, so verify the individual retailer listing before ordering. A retailer page may show a preorder, a shipped copy or no stock depending on location and timing.

Konami lists different storage figures for the two editions and a lower frame-rate target for Nintendo Switch. The figures below preserve the platform qualification given by Konami:

These are the storage requirements shown for the editions, not a promise that every platform will consume identical free space after patches or system overhead. Leave additional room on a console or computer for updates and the operating system. Switch owners should also account for the console’s available internal storage or a compatible microSD card.

Choose PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S for the listed 60 fps target
If smooth action is your main consideration, Konami lists 60 fps on the non-Switch platforms. Both Xbox Series consoles are covered by the same Series X|S release listing, while PlayStation 5 has its own product entry. The edition choice remains separate from the console choice: Standard is digital, and Midnight can be digital or physical.
Choose Nintendo Switch for portability
Switch is the only listed platform with a 30 fps specification and the smaller storage figures of 4 GB for Standard or 6 GB for Midnight. That makes the platform distinction clear: portability is the reason to choose Switch, while the published performance target is lower than on the other listed platforms.

The launch information names both Xbox on PC and Steam. Confirm which storefront you intend to use, because ownership, installation and account requirements are handled by the selected store. The published material does not provide a detailed PC hardware specification, resolution table or operating-system breakdown, so those requirements should be checked on the relevant store page rather than inferred from the console listings.

Choose Midnight when physical media or bonuses matter
Midnight is the appropriate option if you want a boxed PS5 or Switch copy, the Digital Sound & Art Gallery, or the three named bonuses. Standard is the simpler choice when you want only the base game digitally. Konami does not state that Midnight includes a different story or additional campaign chapters.
How to budget time before you start
- Set aside a 20–25-hour planning window. Treat it as the available developer-attributed completion estimate, not a guaranteed personal result.
- Decide whether you are playing for progress or experimentation. The game includes Arcana abilities, weapons and relics, so testing different setups can extend a session beyond a direct route.
- Choose the platform that matches your priority. Use the 60 fps listings for the other platforms, the portable Switch version if mobility matters, or PC based on Xbox on PC versus Steam preference.
- Check storage before installation. Reserve the edition-specific space listed by Konami and leave extra capacity for updates.
- Verify the edition and stock at checkout. Midnight is the physical-and-digital option; retailer inventory and regional pricing can change after launch.
What is still not officially specified?
Several details readers often look for are not established by the published materials available for this release:
- There is no official Konami number separating main-story time from 100% completion.
- The 20–25-hour figure is not a database average or a published laboratory measurement.
- Detailed PC hardware requirements, resolution modes and patch-size history are not supplied in the platform summary.
