Furbo does not publish a typical number of years its cameras are expected to last. Its standard warranty lasts one year from shipping, while eligible yearly or two-year Furbo Nanny plans may include hardware coverage for as long as the subscription remains active. Neither warranty term predicts how long a camera will keep working. A separate end-of-life notice applies only to original Furbo Dog Cameras purchased before August 2017: support for those cameras ended September 4, 2024.
What “lasting” means for a Furbo camera
Three different questions can be hidden in “How long does a Furbo last?” The device’s lifespan is how long an individual unit continues to work; Furbo does not provide a general expected lifespan in the manufacturer materials reviewed. A warranty is a remedy for eligible defects under specified terms. Support status concerns whether Furbo still supports a particular model. These are not interchangeable: a one-year warranty does not mean a camera is designed to last only one year, and a conditional lifetime warranty does not promise that every camera will work forever.
How long Furbo’s warranties last
Standard warranty
Furbo’s warranty article says the standard warranty period is one year from the shipping date. Coverage is subject to exclusions, so the one-year period alone does not establish that a particular failure qualifies. Furbo lists exclusions including accidental damage, misuse, abuse, disassembly, unauthorized modification or neglect, liquid contact, failure to follow manual instructions, and repairs by someone Furbo has not authorized. “Lifetime” coverage is linked to eligibility for specified yearly or two-year Furbo Nanny subscriptions, including eligible Subscribe and Save and standalone camera plans. Furbo states that this warranty applies only while the qualifying subscription is active; it is not automatic coverage included with every camera. The terms say Furbo may repair a valid covered defect at no charge using new or refurbished parts, or replace the product with a refurbished, reconditioned, new, or functionally equivalent unit. A replacement therefore is not necessarily brand new. Read the Furbo Lifetime Warranty terms and verify eligibility for your purchase and region.

Which Furbo cameras have reached end of life?
Furbo announced that original Furbo Dog Cameras purchased before August 2017 reached end of life on September 4, 2024. That notice is about support for this specific older group; it does not establish the lifespan or support cutoff for newer Furbo models. What to do when your Furbo stops working
- Identify the device. Find the model, serial number, and purchase or shipping details. Furbo’s current US comparison page lists multiple camera models, so do not assume that instructions or accessories for one generation apply to another. Compare Furbo camera models
- Check the relevant coverage. Compare the shipping date with the standard one-year warranty period, and check whether you had an eligible Furbo Nanny plan active under the lifetime warranty conditions. Ask Furbo to confirm the terms that apply to your purchase.
- Ask what remedy is available. For an eligible lifetime-warranty claim, the stated remedies may include repair or a refurbished, reconditioned, new, or functionally equivalent replacement. Confirm the proposed remedy rather than assuming a replacement will be new.
- Compare a repair or replacement with buying another camera. Check the current model, actual price, subscription requirements, cable type, and included accessories. A newer model is not automatically compatible with an older camera’s setup or a guaranteed equivalent. Furbo’s current US comparison page describes the 360° Dog Camera with a 2-meter USB-C cable, as well as features such as treat tossing, night vision, and two-way audio; video history and smart features may depend on a subscription.
Should you try to repair or maintain it yourself?
The manufacturer information cited here does not establish that a particular cleaning routine, placement, power accessory, or repair will extend a Furbo’s service life. Before opening the camera or attempting a repair, check its manual and warranty terms: Furbo lists disassembly and unauthorized repair among exclusions. The company also mentions free replacement of certain lids or cables for listed models, but this does not establish that parts are available for every generation. Confirm availability for your exact model with Furbo.
How to judge your camera’s remaining life
There is no published Furbo-wide lifespan figure here that can tell you whether a working camera will last another month or several years. For an individual device, the practical decision depends on its present condition and whether support or warranty service remains available. Use the model and purchase date to establish support and coverage first; then compare the remedy Furbo offers with the cost and requirements of a current replacement. Treat a subscription as a coverage condition to weigh against your own needs, not as proof of a longer expected device life.
