Nicholas Fasulo says he built Galaxy Movies as a movie-discovery app for searching titles, exploring cast connections, checking streaming availability, and reading concise AI-generated film overviews. His reported stack combines the Next.js Pages Router, Chakra UI, React Query, TMDB, Vercel Edge Runtime, @vercel/og, OpenAI API, and Lighthouse CI. The account describes design choices and an author-reported speed claim, not an independently tested benchmark.
What Galaxy Movies is designed to do
Fasulo frames the problem simply: “Finding something to watch shouldn’t feel like a chore.” Galaxy Movies is presented as a discovery interface that brings several steps together: finding a film, following connections through its cast, checking where it can be streamed, rented, or bought, and getting a short AI-generated overview.
The source describes “instant search” and “objective AI synopses” as product positioning. Those phrases explain the intended experience; the available account does not provide measurements establishing search latency or a method for evaluating synopsis objectivity.

Fasulo’s article names a set of technologies across the interface, data layer, edge services, AI, and quality checks:

The available source does not identify an OpenAI model, describe prompt construction or API parameters, or explain caching, deployment region, or operating costs. Those details should not be inferred from the list of services.
How the reported rendering choices fit together
Generate social cards at the edge
The author says Galaxy Movies creates dynamic Open Graph share cards using Vercel Edge Runtime and @vercel/og. This places card generation at the edge rather than describing a conventional, pre-generated image workflow. The article reports “sub-100ms” response times for social-card requests, but supplies no benchmark method, sample count, region, traffic conditions, hardware, or percentile. Treat the figure as Fasulo’s claim about the project, not a general guarantee or independently reproduced result.

- EASY-TO-PLAY: Test your cinema knowledge and take a trip down memory lane as you reflect on favorite box office hits, Oscar winners, and classic movie quotes. Movie Trivia is an easy to learn game making it perfect to play with family and friends.
- FAMILY FAVORITE: Movie Trivia spans the Hollywood classics to modern day movies. Teens to adults will enjoy answering these trivia questions.
- TRIVIA CATEGORIES: Movie Trivia Game includes the following categories: Comedy/Animation, Action/Adventure, Drama/Musical, and Horror/Sci-Fi.
- INCLUDES: 110 Double-sided cards (880 questions), Score pad, Pencil, Instructions.
Load poster art directly from TMDB’s CDN
Fasulo says the app loads poster art directly from TMDB’s CDN to avoid image-transformation limits. This is a reported implementation choice; the account does not quantify its effect on speed, cost, image quality, or reliability against server-side transformation.
Use AI for concise film context
The OpenAI API is identified as the source of the film overviews. The source does not state which model produced them or how the prompts were designed, nor does it provide examples or a factuality-evaluation process. The supported takeaway is that AI-generated synopses are part of the product concept, not that a particular model or prompting technique was validated.

- New Enemy Type – Battle massive insect monsters that swarm and overwhelm the Corps.

- Replayable Scenarios – 10 new maps and additional challenges expand your campaigns.
- Requires Base Game – Must be played with the Corps of Discovery base game.
Quality checks with Lighthouse CI
The article says Lighthouse CI is used to enforce thresholds for performance, accessibility, and SEO. That makes automated quality checks part of the reported workflow rather than relying only on manual review. The available account does not list the threshold values, test environment, run frequency, or resulting scores, so it does not establish how strict the checks were or what outcomes they produced.

Galaxy Movies illustrates one way to assemble a discovery app from a movie-data API, a client-facing React stack, edge-generated social images, and AI-generated summaries. The decisions are useful as architectural examples, but the source provides no quantified comparison proving that edge card generation outperforms conventional delivery, direct CDN posters outperform image transformation, or automated Lighthouse checks outperform a manual-only process.
