The World Wall is a project where visitors can leave a name, a few words, or a drawn signature and receive a numbered place on a shared online wall. Its creator, Mostafa Neqrouz, presents it as a simple way to say, “I was here.” The word “forever” is the project’s promise in his description—not a verified guarantee that the website or its entries will remain available indefinitely.
What is The World Wall?
Neqrouz introduced The World Wall in a DEV Community showcase post as a growing public record of individual marks. The idea is deliberately simple: a visitor contributes a small personal message, and the site assigns it a sequential number. “Every new person takes the next spot, so the wall keeps growing over time,” he wrote.
That makes the project less like a conventional profile or social feed and more like a digital guestbook. Its appeal is the act of leaving a trace alongside contributions from people elsewhere, rather than building a following or maintaining an account.
How does leaving a mark work?
According to the creator’s post, a visitor enters a name or a few words, with the option to draw a signature, then receives a number on the wall. Neqrouz says participation requires no account or email. Those are the mechanics described in the post; the project homepage could not be accessed to confirm whether the same flow is currently available.

How many people have participated?
In his DEV Community post, published September 17, 2026, Neqrouz reported that people from 106 countries had left a mark. That is the creator’s figure at the time of publication, not an independently verified count or a current total. The post does not provide other participation statistics.
Does “forever” mean the mark is guaranteed to last?
No such guarantee is established by the available information. The creator describes a “permanent number” and frames the wall as a lasting place to leave a mark, but his post does not explain hosting, backups, preservation plans, or what happens if the service closes. It also does not establish the site’s present availability.

What the project offers—and what it does not establish
The World Wall’s idea is a modest one: add a small public mark to a shared, numbered wall. Neqrouz’s post describes the intended experience and reports participation from 106 countries, but it is not independent verification of ongoing operation or long-term preservation. Treat “forever” as the project’s aspiration unless its operator publishes details that support a stronger claim.
