The Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 is the more modern platform on paper: Qualcomm lists a 4 nm process, LPDDR5 support and 5G capability, while the Helio G37 is a 12 nm, 4G chipset built around older Cortex-A53 cores. That makes Snapdragon the stronger choice by platform generation and connectivity. It does not establish how much faster one phone will feel: the available benchmark figures are not from a verified, matched-device test, and handset design matters.
Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 vs Helio G37 specifications
The comparison below combines Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 product specifications with NanoReview’s Helio G37 specifications and MediaTek’s description of its Helio family. These are platform-level details, not guarantees about every phone built around either chip.
| Specification | Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 | Helio G37 |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturing process | 4 nm, according to Qualcomm. | 12 nm, according to NanoReview. |
| CPU | 64-bit Kryo CPU, up to 2.3 GHz. Qualcomm’s cited page does not specify the core configuration. | Eight Cortex-A53 cores: four up to 2.3 GHz and four up to 1.8 GHz, according to NanoReview. |
| Graphics | Adreno GPU; Qualcomm lists OpenGL ES 3.2, Vulkan 1.1 and OpenCL 2.0 support. | PowerVR GE8320, according to NanoReview. |
| Memory | LPDDR5 support up to 3.2 GHz, according to Qualcomm. | Specific memory support is not stated in the cited MediaTek family overview. |
| Mobile network | 5G sub-6 GHz platform capability; Qualcomm lists peak download speeds up to 2.5 Gbps. | Helio is described by MediaTek as a family of 4G smartphone platforms; the overview does not give G37-specific band details. |
| Camera and display | Qualcomm lists Spectra ISP features and a display capability of up to 120 FPS. Actual phone capabilities depend on its components and implementation. | MediaTek’s family overview mentions camera, display and gaming technologies generally, but does not give G37-specific limits there. |

CPU: clock speed is not a direct performance comparison
Both platforms list a CPU that can reach 2.3 GHz, but that shared peak number does not mean they perform alike. Qualcomm identifies the Snapdragon CPU as Kryo, while the G37 specification lists eight Cortex-A53 cores, including four at a lower 1.8 GHz ceiling. Core design, workload and a phone’s sustained thermal behavior all affect performance. The published details alone do not establish a precise speed advantage.

Process and power
The stated 4 nm process for Snapdragon is more modern than the G37’s listed 12 nm process. This is a meaningful generational distinction, but it is not a direct battery-life or temperature result. Power draw and heat depend on the chip implementation, workload and the handset’s cooling and power management.
Graphics and gaming
Snapdragon uses an Adreno GPU and lists support for several modern graphics APIs; Helio G37 uses PowerVR GE8320 graphics. Those facts describe platform capabilities, not frame rates. No verified matched graphics test establishes how a particular game runs on phones using these chips. Game settings, phone memory, software and heat can change the experience.

Benchmark scores: useful clues, not a fair head-to-head
Published scores vary by benchmark version, device and collection method. The available numbers should not be combined into one ranking or treated as results from a controlled comparison.
| Chipset and source | Published result | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, TopCPU | AnTuTu 10: 463,277 | The comparison page does not establish the tested phone, software build, cooling, sample size or whether both chips were tested directly under matched conditions. |
| Helio G37, TopCPU | AnTuTu 10: 160,199 | Same limitation: the surfaced comparison does not provide enough methodology to verify a fair head-to-head. |
| Helio G37, NanoReview | AnTuTu 11: 215,798; Geekbench 6: 198 single-core and 868 multi-core | NanoReview shows five Geekbench tests. These are database summaries, not guaranteed results for every G37 phone. |
| Helio G37, AnTuTu ranking page | 107,823 | AnTuTu’s ranking page displays a different score from NanoReview’s AnTuTu 11 figure. The pages do not establish a shared dataset or test context. |

5G connectivity: the clearest platform distinction
Qualcomm lists 5G sub-6 GHz capability for Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, while MediaTek describes Helio as a family of 4G platforms. That makes Snapdragon the relevant platform category if 5G is a requirement. It does not confirm that a given phone supports every carrier or band you need: check the exact regional model and its network specifications before buying.
Which chipset should you choose?
Choose a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 phone when
- You want the newer platform specifications, including LPDDR5 support and 5G capability.
- You are comparing otherwise suitable phones and the Snapdragon model’s price, software support, display, camera and battery meet your needs.
- You value a more modern platform baseline but understand that a named phone’s real performance still depends on its implementation.
Consider a Helio G37 phone when
- The phone itself suits your needs and budget, and 4G is adequate for your location and plan.
- Your intended use is modest and you are judging the complete handset rather than expecting flagship-level gaming or performance.
- You have checked the specific phone’s condition, software support, memory configuration and network compatibility.
NanoReview lists the Motorola Moto G Power (2022), Moto G22 and Moto G Play (2023), among other models, as Helio G37 examples. These are examples of G37 phones, not evidence that their configurations, availability or value are identical. The cited Qualcomm product page establishes Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 platform specifications but does not identify a shipping phone with independently verified device benchmarks, so a direct handset recommendation cannot be made from chipset names alone.
What to compare before buying a phone
Once you have specific models in view, compare the handset rather than relying on the processor label alone:

- Performance evidence: Look for CPU and game tests on the exact phone model, with benchmark version identified. A test on a different handset may not reflect its cooling or software.
- Connectivity: Confirm the model number, supported regional bands and carrier compatibility; platform-level 5G capability does not guarantee every band.
- Memory and storage: Check the phone’s RAM and storage configuration, not only the chipset’s supported memory type.
- Battery and thermals: Compare phone-level battery capacity and credible runtime or sustained-load results. Process-node figures alone do not predict endurance.
- Overall value: Consider display, camera hardware, software support, condition and price alongside performance.
