To find the account number for a personal Venmo account, open the app, tap Me, tap the Settings gear, tap Direct Deposit, and then tap Show Account Number. Venmo displays the account number and routing number on that screen. Teen Accounts use a different path, covered in its own section below.
Find the number on a personal account
Venmo’s Direct Deposit FAQ directs users to the in-app settings below. Menu labels can change between app versions, so if a label differs slightly, look for the same item in the same place.

- Open the Venmo app and tap Me, which is your profile picture or initials.
- Tap the Settings gear in the top right corner.
- Tap Direct Deposit.
- Tap Show Account Number.
- Copy the account number and the routing number exactly as they appear on screen.
Venmo’s help center states that you “can access your account and routing numbers for Direct Deposit in your Venmo app.” The two numbers form a bank-style pair. They are not your Venmo username, profile name, QR code, or payment ID, so do not use any of those in place of them on a form.

The same assigned account and routing numbers serve two functions. Venmo uses them for Direct Deposit, which lets money such as a paycheck reach your account. Venmo’s Direct Debit FAQ says the same assigned Bancorp account and routing numbers also support Direct Debit from a Venmo balance. Its instructions point you back to the Direct Deposit settings to view the numbers and note that identity verification may be needed.

Venmo says the numbers are provided when you enroll in Direct Deposit or open a Venmo Debit Card. Share them only with the employer, card issuer, or merchant that actually needs them.
Why the option may be missing
Venmo ties the Direct Deposit feature to eligibility. If Show Account Number does not appear, check the following:

Don't use search engines or shortened versions of the website address, as these may lead you to fake or fraudulent sites. Do not provide any Gift Card details (example: Card Number) to someone you do not know or trust. If you believe you've reached an illegitimate website, contact cardholder service at 1-888-524-1283. Be cautious of phishing sites, there are a variety of scams in which fraudsters try to trick others into paying with gift cards.
- To report your Lost or Stolen Physical Visa Card, call Customer Service 24/7 at 1 (888) 524-1283 to cancel your Gift Card as soon as you can. You will be asked to provide the Gift Card number and other identifying information.
- Use your Visa Gift Card in the U.S. everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted, including online.
- You have completed the identity verification Venmo requires.
- The account is otherwise eligible for Direct Deposit. Venmo determines eligibility at its discretion, and the help center does not list every criterion.
- The app is signed into the account you intend to use. Accounts can be switched in the app, so confirm this before concluding the setting is missing.
If those conditions are met and the setting is still unavailable, contact Venmo through Me > Settings > Get Help > Chat With Us. Venmo’s Contact Us article describes this in-app route.

Teen Accounts do not use the Settings menu. Open the Card tab and tap the eye icon next to Direct Deposit, which reveals the numbers. The Teen Account Direct Deposit FAQ sets out this path.

The key limitation is that Teen Accounts cannot receive government payments through Direct Deposit. Venmo’s Teen Account article also describes paycheck deposits, so the restriction applies specifically to government payments. Confirm with the payer what type of deposit a form is for before you provide the Teen Account numbers.

Giving the numbers to an employer or card issuer
Enter both numbers exactly as the app shows them. Venmo warns that a wrong account or routing number can stop funds from reaching the correct account. Its help center states: “By failing to provide the issuer with your correct account and routing numbers, Venmo may be unable to deliver your funds to the correct account.” Venmo also says it is not responsible for nondelivery caused by incorrect account information you submit. Before you submit, compare each digit against the app screen.

Some forms ask for a bank name and address in addition to the numbers. Venmo’s help center gives the following partner-bank details, and you should provide them only when the form asks for them:
