Clockify helped Austek Play see how its designers allocated time across projects and tasks. In Clockify’s customer story, Design Team Lead Alberto Calzavara says the team relied most on manual time entry, categorized by jobs and subcategories, then used reports to review time allocation. Austek Play continued using Asana for project management; Clockify provided time tracking and reporting alongside it.
Why Austek Play wanted clearer time data
Austek Play designs and installs commercial playgrounds. Clockify’s customer story lists the company at 10–50 employees; it does not state when that size estimate was recorded. As its client list grew, the design team wanted a clearer view of how designers spent time and better task-level estimates.
The challenge was not simply recording hours. The team wanted to connect time to jobs and categories so it could understand the effort behind specific work.

Manual time entry organized by job and category
Calzavara says manual tracking was the team’s most-used method. He describes assigning time to jobs, categories, and subcategories:

“Manual time tracking is what we use the most. Paired with the allocation of time to jobs, categories, and subcategories, this feature is what makes the difference to us.”
That statement is attributed to Calzavara in Clockify’s vendor-published customer story. The story also mentions Clockify timers and auto-tracking as product options, but it does not say Austek Play used either of them.

Reports to review allocation
Calzavara identifies reports as especially useful for analyzing time spent on tasks and spotting allocation errors. Clockify describes summary, weekly, and detailed reports. Its help documentation explains that projects group time entries and that tasks can be assigned to projects, allowing entries to be organized around particular work.

Austek Play already used Asana as its project-management tool. The customer story says the team integrated Clockify with Asana, and Clockify’s current integrations page lists Asana. The account describes complementary roles: Asana for project management, with Clockify adding time tracking and reports. It does not say Clockify replaced Asana or managed every part of project delivery.

What the customer story does—and does not—show
The account is published by Clockify and reports a named customer’s experience. It is useful evidence of the workflow Calzavara described, but it is not an independent evaluation or controlled study. The sources do not give a measured change in productivity, time saved, revenue, or on-time delivery, and they do not establish that Clockify caused a quantified business outcome.
For teams considering a similar setup, the example illustrates a practical approach: connect time entries to the job and task categories the team wants to analyze, then use reports to inspect the resulting allocation. The story does not provide enough detail to prescribe Austek Play’s category structure or to claim that the same setup will produce the same results elsewhere.
