If you manage the show, sign in to Spotify for Creators and open Analytics → Audience to see its audience count for a selected period. Spotify’s creator analytics distinguish that count of people from Plays, which measures qualifying listening or viewing activity. Spotify’s public show pages are not established as a place where anyone can see a show’s audience total.
Where do I find Spotify podcast audience analytics?

Select Audience and choose the time period you want to inspect.
Spotify says that shows hosted with Spotify for Creators can also display audience data from other platforms where the show is available. Audience sections can be exported as CSV. See Spotify’s guide to audience analytics.

What does Spotify count as a listener?
Spotify Audience is the number of distinct people who played any episode of the show on Spotify during the selected period. A person who played several episodes is counted once in that period’s audience total.

Plays counts episodes listened to or watched on Spotify for at least 30 seconds during the selected period. One person can therefore contribute multiple plays while counting as one audience member. For definitions of these and other measures, see Spotify’s analytics glossary.
Can I see how many people listen to a podcast on Spotify if I do not manage it?
The documented audience-count workflow is in Spotify for Creators and requires signing in. Spotify’s instructions do not establish that an unrelated listener can see a show’s audience total on its public Spotify page. If you do not manage the show, you should not expect a public Spotify listener count to be available.

Does the audience count include other podcast platforms?
Spotify Audience is Spotify-only. For shows hosted with Spotify for Creators, Spotify also defines Off Platform Audience and All Platform Audience measures, which cover activity beyond Spotify and across platforms respectively. Check the metric label before treating a number as a total across listening services; availability depends on hosting the show with Spotify for Creators.
How should I compare audience and play numbers?
Before comparing two figures, check four things:

Metric: Audience is distinct people; Plays are qualifying listening or viewing events.

Spotify’s audience analytics also divide people into new and returning audience groups. The period total counts a person once: new audience means they played during the selected period but not during the prior year; returning audience means they played in the prior 12 months and came back in the selected period. In the activity chart, someone may appear in different groups on different days. Details are in Spotify’s audience analytics guide.

Spotify’s glossary says Spotify Audience and Followers update every 24 hours, while Plays update every 15 minutes. Its support guidance also cautions that most analytics update every 15 minutes but some can take up to 48 hours. Treat a recent audience figure as potentially delayed rather than assuming every metric refreshes in real time. Spotify’s analytics glossary and episode analytics guidance describe these timing qualifications.
Which engagement metric should I look for?
Use Audience when you want the number of distinct people in a selected period, and Plays when you want qualifying listening or viewing activity. Do not look for Starts as a current metric: Spotify says it streamlined analytics and removed Starts in May 2025. Its engagement metrics guidance explains the change.
