Arrow McLaren uses the IndyCar offseason to prepare its drivers and crews, develop its cars, improve how the team operates, and build commercial relationships. After the 2025 season, CEO Zak Brown said the team was focused on contending for the 2026 championship and Indianapolis 500; a newly opened Indianapolis facility gives that work room to happen year-round.

What does Arrow McLaren want to improve after the 2025 season?

In his post-season letter, McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown said Arrow McLaren had recorded two wins, three poles and 12 podiums in 2025. He reported that Pato O’Ward finished second in the championship and Christian Lundgaard fifth. These are figures and assessments Brown gave in the team’s letter, rather than independent findings. Read Brown’s September 2025 letter.

Brown said the team wanted to contend for both the Indianapolis 500 and the series championship in 2026, with all three cars in the top ten. He identified consistency as a priority and said the offseason would be used to develop Nolan Siegel and help the No. 6 crew complete full race weekends. In his words, “We’re already fully focused on the 2026 season, and we’ve set our sights on going bigger and better next year.”

How does Arrow McLaren prepare its cars and crews?

Year-round car work

The team’s 86,000-square-foot McLaren Racing Center supports car development, assembly and adjustment throughout the year. Its workshop includes a machine shop, gearbox room, fabrication shop, assembly and subassembly areas, and paint booths. These spaces bring multiple stages of preparing and maintaining race cars under one roof. McLaren’s February 2026 facility tour describes the shop and its departments.

Why did McLaren invest in a larger Indianapolis facility?

INDYCAR reported that the project represented a $30 million investment in Indianapolis and would nearly triple the space Arrow McLaren operated in. The design was intended to improve workflow and day-to-day operations. INDYCAR’s September 2025 report covered the project.

The expansion addresses the needs of a team that has grown considerably. INDYCAR reported in December 2025 that Arrow McLaren had increased from roughly 30 employees to more than 120 since its full-time return in 2020. The team maintained three full-time entries and added an Indy 500-only car after 2023, while limited space in its former building constrained that structure. INDYCAR’s report on the renovation describes that growth and space pressure.

How does commercial work fit into the offseason?

The facility also includes workspaces for commercial and corporate departments, so partner and business activity sits alongside the engineering and race-team operation. One example is McLaren Racing’s multiyear partnership with Edward Jones, announced on September 28, 2026. Edward Jones was named the team’s Official Private Wealth Management Partner across Formula 1 and Arrow McLaren IndyCar; its IndyCar activation is scheduled to begin in 2027, with co-branded content, experiences and programming. The announcement does not disclose the deal’s value. See the partnership announcement.

What the offseason work adds up to

Arrow McLaren’s offseason is not simply a pause between races. It is a period for driver development, car work, crew practice, human performance, operational improvements and partner planning. The larger Indianapolis center provides infrastructure for that work, while Brown’s stated 2026 goals give it a competitive focus.
