ResolveIQ’s design gives a support agent continuity across customer conversations by recalling customer-specific history, assembling it with recent chat and company knowledge, and selectively retaining useful outcomes. The key architectural rule is to use memory for context—not as the authority on company policy.

What the project built

In a September 29, 2026 DEV Community implementation account, Shravan Kumar D. describes ResolveIQ as an autonomous customer-support agent and ticket-management platform. The stated stack combines a Flask API, MySQL for structured customer, conversation, message, and ticket data, Groq inference, intent and sentiment classification, TF-IDF and cosine-similarity retrieval for company knowledge, and Hindsight for customer-specific episodic memory. This is the author’s description of the project, not independent verification of its implementation or performance. Source: DEV Community article

How the memory loop works

The described design runs through four stages on an incoming support message:

  1. Recall: The service queries Hindsight with the customer’s identity and current message against a customer-memory bank.
  2. Assemble context: Retrieved memories are cleaned and deduplicated, then combined with recent conversation turns from MySQL and relevant company knowledge.
  3. Generate a response: The language model is instructed to ground company-specific policy claims in the knowledge base and use memory to personalize the response.
  4. Retain selectively: After responding, the interaction is summarized and retained. The article says escalations also retain the ticket ID, priority, and reason.

This is different from simply passing a fixed window of recent chat turns or retrieving generic chunks from old transcripts. The proposed advantage is consolidated, customer-specific context that can carry useful details across sessions. The article provides no benchmark showing that this approach improves relevance, accuracy, or context size over those alternatives.

Why customer memory and company knowledge are separate

The architecture assigns different jobs to its two information sources: customer memory can help explain who the customer is and what has already happened, while the curated company knowledge base supplies the basis for what the company permits. The article expresses the boundary this way: “Hindsight tells the agent who the customer is; the knowledge base tells the agent what the company permits.”

That separation is a design principle, not proof that the agent cannot make policy mistakes. Retrieved history may be incomplete or outdated; policy answers still need to be grounded in the authoritative company source rather than inferred from a prior interaction.

How remembered history can inform escalation

The article illustrates the workflow with a customer whose payment keeps failing. The agent recalls previous plan and environment details, offers relevant troubleshooting, then identifies a repeated unresolved issue with prior failure context and creates a high-priority ticket for human follow-up.

In the described implementation, escalation is rule-based: memory is one input alongside the current message and intent, sentiment, and urgency signals. The example is illustrative, not a measured demonstration of production effectiveness, and the article reports no outcome statistics.

Practical controls and trade-offs

  • Sanitize and deduplicate recalled text. The author reports that raw memories can add noise and bloat prompts; the described memory sanitizer strips metadata-like prefixes and duplicate entries.
  • Do not let memory decide on its own. Treat recalled context as one signal in operational logic, not the sole trigger for consequential actions such as escalation.
  • Retain milestones, not every transcript verbatim. The author favors selectively retained semantic milestones over dumping raw conversations into the memory bank.
  • Plan for service unavailability. The account says a local development fallback kept local workflows usable when the external memory service was unavailable. It does not establish production privacy, availability, or recovery guarantees.

These are practitioner observations from the implementation account, not controlled findings. The source does not independently validate the project, describe its deployment or privacy controls in detail, or quantify improvements from adding memory.
