T3 reported on 6 October 2026 that Amazon was selling the updated Hotel Chocolat All-New Velvetiser for £94.95, down from £119.95. T3 called that its cheapest-ever price, but no independent price-history record was available to verify the claim. The offer is time-sensitive, so check the listing for current price and stock.
Whether it is worth buying depends on how often you make drinking chocolate and whether you will use its new cold-drink setting. T3’s hands-on review found the updated machine makes both hot and cold chocolate, but it costs more than a hot-only alternative and needs to be cleaned by hand.
What is the All-New Velvetiser deal?
T3’s deal report, published 6 October 2026, listed the updated All-New Velvetiser at Amazon for £94.95, reduced from £119.95, in chalk, pewter and pebble finishes. The reported bundle includes a ceramic Podcup and Podglass. T3 described £94.95 as the cheapest-ever price; that is a claim in the deal article, not a verified historical price record. The deal refers to the updated model, not the original Velvetiser. T3’s November 2024 deal article covered the earlier charcoal model at £74.99, reduced from £99.95; that historical price was for a different generation and does not establish the updated machine’s price history. What changed in the updated model?
In a hands-on review published 19 September 2025, T3 described a redesign with a fluted body, petal-shaped magnetic whisk, internal ridges, ash-wood handle and dial with colour-coded lights. The functional change is the addition of a cold setting: the original model was hot-only, while the updated one can prepare both hot and cold drinking chocolate. T3 says the cold setting stirs more slowly for a lighter drink intended to be served over ice. These are details reported by the reviewer, not independently tested here.
For hot drinks, reviewer Lizzie Wilmot said the machine gently melts real chocolate and that a drink took about two to three minutes in her test. She also found it surprisingly quiet. Those observations describe her experience and should not be treated as guaranteed preparation times or noise levels for every recipe and serving. Is it worth the money?
At T3’s reported October 2026 offer price, it is easier to justify than at the updated model’s £149.95 UK launch price reported in T3’s 2025 review. It remains a premium appliance, and the purchase price is only part of the cost if you regularly buy sachets or chocolate flakes for drinks.
- It may suit you if you make drinking chocolate often, want both hot and cold options, and value having dedicated vessels for serving.
- It may not suit you if you only make hot chocolate occasionally, want a low-cost way to heat a drink, or do not want another item to wash by hand.
- Before buying, compare the live price, the included vessels, cleaning requirements and your likely ingredient costs. The review mentions sachets and multiple flavours but does not establish that only Hotel Chocolat ingredients work.
Wilmot’s review verdict called the All-New Velvetiser “a genuine upgrade from its predecessor,” citing the design, features and hot-and-cold capability. That is the reviewer’s assessment, rather than a controlled comparison against every alternative.

What are the drawbacks?
Cleaning is manual
T3 says the machine and its components are not dishwasher-safe. Wilmot describes rinsing by running the whisk in water with a couple of drops of washing-up liquid. If you want an appliance whose parts can go in the dishwasher, this is a meaningful trade-off.
The cold mode is the main functional upgrade
If you do not expect to make cold chocolate, the updated model’s defining addition may have little value for you. T3 identifies the original Velvetiser as a less expensive, hot-only option and the Dualit Cocoatiser as another more affordable hot-chocolate alternative. Its review does not provide same-date prices or a controlled head-to-head test, so it does not establish a performance winner. Check current listings and compare the features that matter to you.

The prices are from different dates and are not a like-for-like current comparison. T3 does not publish a controlled test of all three machines, so choose by current cost, modes, included cups or vessels, cleaning and recurring ingredient expense rather than assuming one is better overall.
