For the Infinix Hot 70 Pro vs Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G, the Hot 70 Pro has the sharper, faster-refreshing screen and quicker charging on the specifications available; the Redmi 17 5G has a larger display and a slightly higher-capacity battery. The price comparison is not India versus India: Infinix’s India page displayed ₹27,999 for the 8/128 GB option when accessed on October 7, 2026, while the Redmi prices reported so far are China launch prices.
Specs at a glance
The figures below are for the Infinix Hot 70 Pro listed for India and the Redmi 17 5G reported at its China launch. They are not necessarily the configurations that will be sold in every market. Specifications are manufacturer listings for Infinix and reported launch details for Redmi, not results from comparable independent testing.

Sources: Infinix Mobiles India’s Hot 70 Pro specifications and Cinco Días’ August 6, 2026 report on the Redmi 17 5G. Infinix’s product page gives 8 MP for the front camera in its detailed specification table, but an FAQ answer on the same page says 13 MP; the table value is used here, and the discrepancy is unresolved.
Which phone has the better display?
The Redmi 17 5G has the larger panel at 6.9 inches, compared with 6.76 inches on the Hot 70 Pro. The Infinix screen has the higher resolution—1080 × 2344 versus 1600 × 720—and the higher maximum refresh rate, 144 Hz versus 120 Hz. That makes the Infinix specification the stronger fit if screen sharpness and a high refresh-rate option matter more than extra screen size. The figures alone do not establish brightness, color accuracy, or the experience in everyday use.

Battery capacity and charging
The Redmi’s reported 6300 mAh battery is larger than the Hot 70 Pro’s listed 6000 mAh battery. Infinix specifies 45 W charging, while the China launch report gives the Redmi 15 W wired charging. Capacity and charging wattage do not establish how long either phone lasts in real use or how quickly it charges under actual conditions; no comparable battery or charging test is available here.
Performance, memory, and storage
The phones use different chipsets: MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G in Infinix’s listing and Unisoc T8300 in the Redmi launch report. Chipset names are not a reliable substitute for side-by-side benchmarks or hands-on testing, so the available evidence does not establish which phone is faster.

The listed memory tiers also differ by market. Infinix India shows 6 GB or 8 GB RAM with 128 GB storage; the China Redmi report lists 4 GB or 6 GB RAM with 128 GB storage. Both sources mention microSD expansion. Check the exact regional variant before buying, since specifications and configurations may change outside these markets.

The Infinix listing identifies a 50 MP Sony IMX882 rear camera, while the Redmi report lists a 13 MP rear camera. Both sources specify an 8 MP front camera, subject to the Infinix page discrepancy noted above. Megapixel counts and sensor naming do not show which phone takes better photos or video; no comparative camera tests were established.

Price difference: the available prices are from different markets
Infinix’s official India product page displayed ₹27,999 for the selected 8/128 GB Hot 70 Pro option when accessed on October 7, 2026. The page also showed promotional or banner text with different pricing, so ₹27,999 is a dated page snapshot, not a guaranteed current or market-wide price. Check the live listing and seller terms before purchase.
| Phone and configuration | Market and price evidence |
|---|---|
| Infinix Hot 70 Pro, 8/128 GB | ₹27,999 displayed on Infinix India’s page when accessed October 7, 2026; price is volatile. |
| Redmi 17 5G, 4/128 GB | 999 yuan China launch price reported by Cinco Días on August 6, 2026. |
| Redmi 17 5G, 6/128 GB | 1,199 yuan China launch price reported by Cinco Días on August 6, 2026. |
These are different markets, sources, and configurations, so subtracting or converting them would not produce a meaningful India price difference. The available reporting does not establish a Redmi 17 5G India launch price or availability. A 91mobiles comparison search result displayed other marketplace pricing and conflicting specifications; because its comparison page could not be verified, those figures should not be treated as confirmed prices or specs.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which one should you choose?
- Consider the Hot 70 Pro if you prioritize the higher-resolution display, the higher listed refresh rate, faster specified charging, or an 8 GB RAM option in the India listing.
- Consider the Redmi 17 5G if you prefer a larger screen, the higher reported battery capacity, or its reported 3.5 mm headphone jack.
- Wait for a local Redmi listing if you are shopping in India and need a trustworthy local price, warranty, or network compatibility details. The China report does not confirm those for India.
Before deciding, compare the exact storage tier and region, live price on the same day, seller and taxes, warranty terms, and network-band compatibility. None of the specifications alone proves better real-world speed, battery life, or camera results.
