For a lower advertised price with hosting and basic services bundled, Hostinger may suit a small-site owner willing to pay for a long term upfront. Wix is the stronger fit if a larger template library or a wider range of built-in business tools matters more. The better choice depends on your actual plan cost over time, design needs and required features—not the headline monthly rate.

How do the two builders differ?

Hostinger combines a website builder with traditional hosting services and promotes domain, email, AI creation, ecommerce and support in one place. Wix presents itself as an all-in-one builder with templates, business tools, ecommerce and AI site creation. The feature counts below come from Hostinger’s comparison page, dated October 1, 2026; they are vendor-reported, not an independent audit.

Comparison Hostinger Wix
Starting price shown on Hostinger’s US comparison page $2.99/month, an introductory equivalent tied to a 48-month prepaid plan $17/month; the comparison does not establish an equivalent billing term
Templates, according to Hostinger’s October 1, 2026 comparison 600+ 900+
Free domain and SSL, according to Hostinger’s comparison Listed Listed
AI website building, image generation and writing tools, according to Hostinger’s comparison Listed Listed
Ecommerce, according to Hostinger’s comparison Listed Listed
Business email, according to Hostinger’s comparison Free business email listed; the offer terms specify one year for listed email mailboxes Not listed in the comparison
Sites per plan and multilingual support, according to Hostinger’s comparison More sites per plan; fewer supported languages Fewer sites per plan; more supported languages

Template totals do not establish which designs will work for your project. A larger catalog can give you more starting points, but it is not a measure of design quality or fit. Hostinger’s comparison also reflects the company’s own commercial interest, so treat its side-by-side feature claims accordingly.

What will each option cost over time?

Compare the amount paid upfront, the initial term and the renewal rate—not just the monthly equivalent. Hostinger’s US offer page lists Premium at $2.99/month for 48 months, or $143.52 upfront, renewing at $10.99/month. Its Unlimited offer is $3.99/month for 48 months, or $191.52 upfront, renewing at $16.99/month. The page says plans are paid upfront and the displayed monthly figure divides the total plan price by the number of months. It describes the domain and listed email mailboxes as free for one year, not for the full 48-month term. Check the current plan and terms before purchase; promotions can change. See Hostinger’s pricing and terms.

Wix says you can create a site free and choose a plan when ready to pay; the final price appears on the purchase page. Prices vary by country and plan. As a 2026 snapshot rather than a universal price list, TechRadar reported Wix Lite at $17/month when paid annually or $24 month to month; Core at $29 annually or $36 monthly; and Business at $39 annually or $43 monthly. Check your localized Wix checkout for the price that applies to you. Wix pricing and TechRadar’s 2026 comparison provide the relevant details.

These figures are not like-for-like: Hostinger’s quoted entry rate requires four years paid upfront, while the Wix comparison’s starting figure does not specify the same term. Make your own comparison using the plans and features you need, the total initial payment, renewal price and any time-limited inclusions.

Which builder offers more design flexibility?

Hostinger’s comparison lists 600+ templates, versus 900+ for Wix. TechRadar’s review characterizes Wix as offering greater design flexibility and flags a significant constraint with Hostinger: after choosing a template, switching to another may require starting over. If your site depends on a distinctive visual identity, try both editors and candidate templates before committing. The published comparison materials do not establish independent usability-test results for the two editors.

Which has the business tools you need?

Wix’s broader set of integrated business tools is a strong reason to consider it when a website must do more than present information or a portfolio. TechRadar points to examples including appointment booking, event management, restaurant reservations, payment links, invoices and a large app selection. Check the exact plan and availability for each feature you need; a general feature list does not guarantee that a particular tool is included in your chosen plan.

Hostinger emphasizes hosting and basic site services bundled with its builder, including email and domain offers. Its comparison lists more websites per plan than Wix, but allowances depend on the plan. If you are choosing primarily for a basic site and value a bundled setup, those details may matter more than breadth of business applications.

Can either one handle an online store?

Both companies list ecommerce features, but that alone does not show which selling tools are included at a particular price. TechRadar says Hostinger requires its Business plan to sell online; confirm the current plan requirement and included features directly before signing up. Wix’s ecommerce eligibility and capabilities likewise depend on the selected plan.

For a store with complex inventory operations or a need for advanced analytics, do not assume either builder is automatically the right platform. TechRadar’s assessment is that Wix ecommerce covers most needs, while readers requiring deep inventory management or advanced analytics should also evaluate dedicated commerce platforms. That is an editorial judgment, not a universal limit on either builder.

What should you expect from the AI tools?

Hostinger’s comparison lists AI site building, image generation and writing tools for both platforms. Treat generated copy, images and layouts as drafts to review and edit, not finished work. In TechRadar’s Hostinger review, the reviewer said generated text, images and formatting needed editing. That account describes the reviewer’s experience; it is not a direct comparative test of both editors.

Which should you choose?

Choose Hostinger if

  • Your priority is a lower advertised entry price and bundled hosting or basic services.
  • You can pay for a long term upfront and have compared the renewal rate with your expected time using the site.
  • You can benefit from the sites-per-plan allowance listed for the plan you intend to buy.

Choose Wix if

  • You value a larger template selection or more design flexibility.
  • You need integrated business tools such as bookings, events, restaurant functions, payment links or invoices.
  • You want to create a site before choosing a paid plan, and have checked which plan includes the features you require.

Pause and test before deciding if

  • Your design depends on making substantial visual changes after launch; test the editors and templates with that workflow in mind.
  • Your store depends on advanced inventory management or analytics; evaluate specialist commerce options as well.
  • Your choice depends on what happens to site content if you leave. The cited materials do not establish the migration or export behavior of every site component on either platform, so confirm that directly before relying on an exit path.
