The HONOR X9b is worth considering if you want a large, vivid display, a substantial battery and a slim design—and can buy it at a sensible current price. Its strengths are balanced by slow 35 W charging, mixed camera results and handling or audio compromises noted in reviews. Because the available independent reviews cover Indian-market units from 2024, check your local price, configuration and box contents before deciding.
What you get with the HONOR X9b
HONOR’s UAE specifications list a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 1200 × 2652 resolution, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor and MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13. That listed configuration has 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage; memory and storage options can vary by market. HONOR also advertises a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1,200-nit peak brightness. The handset’s main-camera sensor is listed at 108 MP, alongside 5 MP ultra-wide/depth and 2 MP macro cameras. The 108 MP figure describes a high-resolution mode, not necessarily the default resolution of every photo. Rear video recording is listed up to 4K. What is good about the HONOR X9b?
Large, sharp AMOLED screen
The screen is one of the phone’s clearest strengths. Its size and resolution make it well suited to video, reading and general browsing, and reviewers in India praised its vivid display. The 120 Hz specification is a further attraction for people who value smoother scrolling, though it does not by itself establish how the display behaves in every app or setting.

Strong battery capacity and a slim build
The 5,800 mAh typical battery is substantial, and the independent India reviews generally viewed battery life positively. HONOR claims up to 19 hours of online video playback and 12 hours of online gaming; those are manufacturer figures, and real endurance depends on use. Reviewers also found the design relatively slim and light for a phone with this capacity.
Main camera can do well in daylight
Reviewers found the main camera capable of attractive results in daylight. The high-resolution 108 MP mode may be useful when you specifically want more image detail, but its headline resolution should not be mistaken for a guarantee of consistently better photos.

What are the HONOR X9b’s drawbacks?
Charging is slow for a 35 W phone
Although HONOR lists 35 W wired charging, reviewers regarded charging as slow. If you often need a quick top-up, this is a more important practical limitation than the battery-capacity figure alone. The exact charging experience can depend on the local model and compatible charger.

The main camera has its best case in good light. Reviews were less positive about camera performance overall, particularly in low light and beyond the main camera. The 5 MP ultra-wide/depth and 2 MP macro specifications also should not be read as evidence that those cameras match the main sensor’s results.

Handling and audio have compromises
The Indian Express reviewer found one-handed use and button placement awkward. India Today noted a single speaker on its reviewed unit. These are review observations about Indian-market phones, not guarantees that every buyer will experience the same issue, but they are worth checking in person if ergonomics or stereo sound matters to you.
Software and bundle details are market-dependent
The UAE specification page lists MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13. That is the published configuration on that regional page; it should not be treated as a current software-support promise or as proof of the version on every regional unit. Box contents vary too: India Today reported that its reviewed Indian unit did not include a charger, while HONOR says accessories such as a TPU case and protective film are included in some markets. Check the exact local listing for software, charger and accessories.

Is the HONOR X9b drop resistant?
HONOR markets an “Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Display,” says the model received SGS five-star overall drop-resistance certification, and claims its cushioning material can absorb up to 1.2 times the impact of a drop. These are manufacturer claims, not a promise that the phone is indestructible. HONOR also cautions users not to bump or drop the device because it contains precision components. The Indian Express and 91mobiles reviewers did not independently test the advertised structural-integrity claim. That means their reviews do not verify it; it does not establish that the certification is false. Use a suitable case and avoid treating drop-resistance marketing as a substitute for protection.

What did reviewers think, and what did the HONOR X9b cost?
India Today gave the phone 7.5/10 in a review published February 15, 2024, and reported an Indian price of ₹25,999 at that time. 91mobiles also gave it 7.5/10; its review was published February 15 and updated March 11, 2024. The Indian Express also praised the display and battery, while flagging ergonomics and explaining that its reviewer did not conduct the specialized test needed to validate the drop-resistance claim. Who should buy the HONOR X9b?
- Consider it if a large, vivid screen and long-lasting battery matter more to you than fast charging, advanced camera versatility or compact one-handed use—and the current local price is competitive.
- Look elsewhere if quick charging, reliable low-light or ultra-wide photography, strong speaker output, or a smaller phone is a priority.
- Compare carefully against phones at the same current local price. Check their display, battery and charging, camera results, processor, speaker setup, software-support policy, warranty, configuration and box contents rather than relying on launch-era comparisons.
Before buying, confirm the precise regional variant and current listing. The cited review price and impressions concern Indian units from 2024; they cannot establish today’s price, stock, software version, charger inclusion or value in another market.
