The Honda Super-ONE is a compact electric car designed to make everyday driving feel more playful. Its wide stance and flared fenders give it a bolder look, while Honda’s Boost Mode adds simulated seven-speed shifts and cabin sound effects. Those features are Honda’s description of the car, not independent road-test findings.
What is the Honda Super-ONE?
Honda unveiled the Super-ONE Prototype at the Japan Mobility Show on October 29, 2025. The company describes it as a compact EV for everyday use that is also intended to make driving more engaging, under the concept name “e: Dash BOOSTER.” Honda says it is built on a lightweight platform developed for N Series models. Honda’s announcement framed the car as a way to make routine mobility feel more exciting.
Honda says development testing took place on varied roads and in different climates in Japan, the UK, and other Asian countries. That is Honda’s account of its development process; it is not an independent test report.

The attitude starts with proportions rather than a performance claim. Honda says the Super-ONE has an extended tread, a wide stance, and prominent “blister” fenders that flare around the wheels. The company also says the fenders accommodate wide tires and that the car has dedicated aerodynamic details. Together, those choices make the compact EV look more planted and muscular than a simple city runabout.

Inside, Honda describes sports seats and a cabin layout intended to support a stable driving position and keep the driver focused. These are design intentions, not proof of how the car feels on the road.
What does Boost Mode do?
Boost Mode is the Super-ONE’s signature disclosed driving feature. Honda says it increases power output and synchronizes simulated seven-speed shifts with Active Sound Control, which creates a virtual engine sound inside the cabin. The system is meant to imitate some of the cues of a sporty, engine-powered car while the vehicle remains electric.

Honda also describes simulated shift feel, visual cues, acceleration sensation, and vibration, with the virtual sound responding to accelerator and brake inputs. These details describe Honda’s intended experience; the cited material does not establish a measured acceleration time or independently verified driving effect.

How is it related to the Honda N-ONE e:?
Honda positions the Super-ONE as drawing on the everyday-EV fundamentals of the N-ONE e: while pushing beyond the constraints of a kei car. In Honda’s development story, the N-VAN e: is framed as a work vehicle and the N-ONE e: as an accessible everyday EV. The Super-ONE project uses the latter’s strengths as a starting point, then goes beyond kei-car output and body-width limits.

Project leader Hidetomo Horita described the intended audience as including parents who care about driving feel and younger drivers attracted to acceleration and gadget-like experiences. He said: “Rather than positioning it as ‘an EV,’ we would like people to see the Super-ONE first and foremost as a fun car—one that just happens to be electric.” Honda’s development story gives the project context behind that positioning.
When will it be available, and what is the price?
Availability and naming depend on the market. Honda’s October 2025 announcement said the production model was planned to launch in Japan from 2026, followed by markets with strong demand for compact EVs, including the UK and other Asian countries. Honda said the model would be called Super-ONE in Japan and parts of Asia and Oceania, Honda Super-ONE in some Asia and Oceania countries, and Super-N in the UK. Honda’s later development story specifies a planned Japan launch in May 2026.
Honda Japan’s current model and pricing page lists a national manufacturer suggested price of ¥3,390,200, including tax. That is a Japan-market suggested price, not a universal price or a confirmed figure for other countries. Honda Japan’s Super-ONE price page also shows support examples for Tokyo: ¥1,300,000 in national CEV support and ¥900,000 in Tokyo support. These subsidies depend on location, application rules, eligibility, and available funding, so they should not be treated as a guaranteed discount or final transaction price.

What Honda has not specified in the cited material
The cited Honda material does not state a battery capacity, driving range, charging time, power output figure, acceleration time, or a complete set of safety specifications. Those details should be checked against the official specification page for the specific market when available rather than inferred from the car’s styling or Boost Mode description.
