Wil je Google openen met één klik, of moet Google automatisch verschijnen zodra je de browser start? Vul https://www.google.com in bij de homepage-instelling van Chrome, Firefox, Edge of Safari. Stel het opstartgedrag apart in als je Google meteen bij het starten wilt zien: vooral in Chrome zijn de startpagina en opstartpagina verschillende instellingen.
Homepage, opstartpagina en nieuw tabblad: wat is het verschil?
De homepage is de pagina die je opent met de Home-knop of die als homepage voor nieuwe vensters is ingesteld. De opstartpagina is wat verschijnt wanneer je de browser start. Ook het gedrag van nieuwe tabbladen kan een aparte instelling hebben. Welke opties je ziet, verschilt per browser.
Google Chrome Help omschrijft de opstartpagina als de pagina die verschijnt wanneer je Chrome op je apparaat voor het eerst start. De homepage en opstartpagina stel je in Chrome afzonderlijk in: Google Chrome Help: homepage en opstartpagina instellen.
Google instellen als startpagina in Chrome
Google openen via de Home-knop
- Open Chrome en klik rechtsboven op het menu met de drie puntjes.
- Kies Instellingen.
- Ga naar Vormgeving en schakel Home-knop weergeven in.
- Kies de optie om een aangepaste webpagina in te stellen en voer
https://www.google.comin.
Daarna opent Google wanneer je op de Home-knop klikt.

De Home-knop instellen verandert deze opstartinstelling niet automatisch.

- Open het Firefox-menu en kies Options (in sommige versies of talen heet dit Instellingen).
- Kies Home.
- Zoek New Windows and Tabs en kies bij de homepage-optie Custom URLs.
- Voer

Via de Home-knop
- Open
www.google.comin Firefox. - Sleep het tabblad naar de Home-knop.
- Bevestig dat je Google als homepage wilt instellen.
Menunamen en de precieze route kunnen per Firefox-versie en taal verschillen. Zie ook Google’s instructies om Google als homepage in te stellen en Microsofts browserhandleiding.
Google instellen als startpagina in Microsoft Edge
- Open Edge en kies Settings and more (het menu met drie puntjes) > Settings.
- Kies Start, home, and new tab page.
- Schakel Show home button in.
- Kies Enter URL en vul
https://www.google.comin.
Dit stelt de Home-knop in. Wil je Google ook automatisch zien wanneer Edge start, controleer dan daarnaast de aparte opstartinstelling. De Home-knopinstelling alleen regelt dat niet gegarandeerd.

Google instellen als startpagina in Safari op Mac
- Open Safari en kies Safari > Preferences > General. In nieuwere macOS-versies kan Preferences als Settings worden weergegeven.
- Vul
https://www.google.comin bij Homepage. - Kies bij New windows open with en/of New tabs open with voor Homepage, afhankelijk van waar je Google wilt openen.
Zo kun je nieuwe vensters, nieuwe tabbladen of beide naar de ingestelde homepage laten verwijzen. Zie Google’s handleiding voor Safari en andere browsers.

Een homepage, opstartpagina of zoekmachine die zonder jouw keuze verandert, kan volgens Google wijzen op ongewenste software. Voor Chrome raadt Google aan de browserinstellingen te resetten en de hulp voor het verwijderen van ongewenste software of malware te volgen. Begin bij de officiële ondersteuning van de browser die je gebruikt; de beschikbare instructies beschrijven geen identieke herstelprocedure voor alle vier de browsers. Zie Google Chrome Help.
