The HMD Slate Tab 5G is still a leak, not an announced product—and the reports disagree on its most basic detail. A report dated October 4, 2026 describes a 15.6-inch 2K LCD and a design said to draw on Microsoft Surface and Nokia Lumia 2520, while detailed 2024 coverage claimed a 10.6-inch display and a different set of specifications. Neither version is confirmed by HMD.
What has been reported about the HMD Slate Tab 5G?
The available coverage describes two distinct rumor versions. They should not be combined into one specification sheet: the newer report is sparse, and it does not establish that the larger screen is a final redesign.

| IT之家, October 4, 2026 | 15.6-inch 2K LCD | Blue and orange color options, a single rear camera, and connector contacts along the bottom. The report says leaker smashx_60 showed renders and describes a design drawing on Microsoft Surface and Nokia Lumia 2520; it also says the tablet had reportedly been in development for two years and might launch alongside a Skyline 2 phone. Read the IT之家 report. | Leak claims; the report’s page was not available for direct inspection, so these details are based on its search-result text. Not an HMD announcement. |
| Notebookcheck, June 17, 2024, updated June 18 | 10.6-inch 2000×1200 90 Hz IPS panel, reportedly protected by Gorilla Glass 3 | Reported Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB storage with microSD expansion, 13 MP f/1.8 rear and 8 MP front cameras, 9,250 mAh battery with up to 30 W USB-C charging, 5G, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, stereo speakers, three microphones, a 3.5 mm audio jack, stylus operation, and four rear pins for a keyboard cover. Read the Notebookcheck report. | Detailed leak attributed to @smashx_60; specifications and accessory details are unconfirmed. Price and launch date were unknown when reported. |
Why do the leaked screen sizes conflict?
The reports are more than two years apart and claim substantially different display sizes: 15.6 inches in the October 2026 item versus 10.6 inches in the 2024 coverage. The later report does not provide enough detail to establish whether it describes a redesign, a different device, or an inaccurate rumor. Since neither report is an official HMD announcement, there is no verified final screen size or specification set to resolve the discrepancy.

What does the Lumia 2520 comparison mean?
The Lumia 2520 is a historical reference, not evidence that the rumored HMD tablet shares its hardware or accessories. Microsoft Devices Blog described the Nokia Lumia 2520 on October 22, 2013 as Nokia’s first Windows tablet, running Windows RT 8.1. Its official specifications included a 10.1-inch 1920×1080 display, Snapdragon 800, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage with microSD support up to 32 GB, an 8,000 mAh battery, LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, and stereo front-facing speakers. Microsoft’s Lumia 2520 announcement also described an optional Power Keyboard with a touchpad, protective wrap, two USB ports, and an extra battery rated for up to five additional hours.
Nokia product manager Paul Bischof called the Lumia 2520 “a complete package,” referring to that 2013 tablet. The quote does not describe HMD’s rumored device. Although the 2024 leak mentioned four connector pins for a possible keyboard cover, no evidence establishes that the Lumia 2520 Power Keyboard—or any particular accessory—would fit or work with the Slate Tab.
