The screen size and core display figures come from the product manual; CHOICE’s public listing supplies the panel type, connection counts, dimensions, weight and warranty listing. CHOICE also displays $899 on its page and labels the product “Discontinued model.” That is a page-listed price, not a verified current price or offer.

Does the Hitachi 55QLEDSM20 have Android TV?
Yes. The manual describes Android TV, Google Play Store app downloads, casting from Chromecast-enabled apps or browsers, and interaction with Google Assistant. It documents both built-in Wi-Fi and a wired Ethernet connection, and recommends a wired connection for the best streaming experience.
These are documented features, not confirmation that every app or service still works on this older model. App catalogs, operating-system support and streaming-service requirements change over time. The manual also cautions that streaming quality depends on internet speed and subscription level. It says the TV can play Netflix content in 4K Ultra HD HDR, but that playback resolution may be lower depending on subscription and network speed; this is the manual’s claim, not a current independent verification of Netflix compatibility.

USB recording and time-shifting
The manual says USB storage can be used to record free-to-air digital TV and pause live TV. The available documentation does not identify a universally compatible drive model or capacity, so check the manual and test a drive with the specific set rather than assuming any USB device will work.
Inputs and audio output
CHOICE lists three HDMI inputs and two USB 2 inputs. The manual also documents optical audio out, antenna, AV input and Ethernet. The sources do not establish HDMI 2.1, 4K at 120 Hz, or other specific next-generation gaming features. If you need a TV for a current console or PC, verify the actual supported input modes before buying.

Performance details that are not established
The accessible specifications do not state measured brightness, contrast, HDR performance, viewing angles, motion performance, or speaker quality. Those characteristics can materially affect movie, sports and gaming use, so do not infer them from the 4K resolution or the presence of an HDR-related statement in the manual.
Wall mounting the Hitachi 55QLEDSM20
The manual specifies a 400 mm mounting pattern and M6 × 12 mm screws, or longer screws if required by the bracket. The wall bracket is not included. A mount advertised for a 400 × 400 mm VESA pattern is a reasonable starting point, but that alone does not verify compatibility with your particular TV and bracket.

- Confirm the TV’s mounting-hole spacing and the mount’s supported VESA pattern.
- Check the mount’s load rating against the television’s weight and the wall type.
- Verify that the screw diameter and length suit both the TV and bracket; the manual specifies M6 × 12 mm or longer as required by the bracket.
- Use professional assistance if needed. The manual advises professional help with wall mounting and says not to stand the TV upright without its stand attached.
Australian-market warranty and support notes
The available manual names Tempo (Aust) Pty Ltd as distributor and provides Australian support information.
