The Hisense XR10 is the stronger on-paper fit for a brighter room, a larger image, or an installation that needs more flexibility in projector placement. The C2 Ultra is the lower-priced option in the US listings reviewed and may be the better value for a light-controlled room where its brightness and throw range are sufficient. Hisense’s specifications do not establish which projector produces the better real-world picture in a direct, matched test.

XR10 vs. C2 Ultra at a glance

Decision factor Hisense XR10 Hisense C2 Ultra What it means for you
Manufacturer-rated brightness Up to 6,000 ANSI lumens, per Hisense’s US product listing retrieved October 4, 2026. 3,000 ANSI lumens, per Hisense’s US product listing retrieved October 4, 2026. The XR10 has the higher published rating. Actual suitability depends on room light, screen size, and screen gain; these figures are not matched independent measurements.
Throw ratio 0.84–2.0:1, per Hisense’s May 10, 2026 announcement. 0.9–1.5:1, per Hisense’s Australian specification PDF. The XR10 has a wider stated placement range. Confirm the C2 Ultra specification for your region and calculate the distance required for your screen.
Optical placement features Hisense’s May 10, 2026 announcement specifies 2.38× optical zoom and lens shift of ±130% vertically and ±46% horizontally. The cited Australian specification PDF confirms its throw ratio; comparable lens-shift details were not established. The XR10’s listed zoom and shift may help accommodate a fixed or awkward installation. Verify regional specifications before buying.
US listing price snapshot $5,499.99 sale price displayed on Hisense’s US product listing, retrieved October 4, 2026. $1,999.99 sale price displayed on Hisense’s US product listing, retrieved October 4, 2026. The C2 Ultra was substantially less expensive in that listing snapshot. These displayed sale prices are not guaranteed current prices or stable MSRP.
Image-related claims Triple-laser 4K; Hisense’s US listing claims up to 6,000:1 contrast with iris. Triple-laser 4K; Hisense’s global product page advertises 110% BT.2020 color coverage. These are manufacturer claims, not a directly comparable independent picture-quality test.

Choose the XR10 if your room or installation needs its advantages

You have meaningful ambient light or want a larger image

Hisense rates the XR10 at up to 6,000 ANSI lumens, compared with 3,000 ANSI lumens for the C2 Ultra in their respective US product listings retrieved October 4, 2026. That gives the XR10 the higher published brightness figure, which may be useful when a room is not fully dark or when projecting a larger image. It does not mean the XR10 will look exactly twice as bright in your room: the specifications are not a matched independent measurement, and perceived results depend on the screen and viewing conditions.

You need more freedom to position the projector

Hisense’s XR10 announcement gives a 0.84–2.0:1 throw ratio, 2.38× optical zoom, and lens shift of ±130% vertically and ±46% horizontally. Those are the most concrete reasons to consider it when the projector cannot sit at a simple, centered distance from the screen. Lens shift and optical zoom can help align and size the image without relying only on digital correction, but the stated range does not guarantee that a particular room layout will work. Measure first.

The higher listed price is justified by a specific need

In the US listings retrieved October 4, 2026, Hisense displayed a sale price of $5,499.99 for the XR10. Consider that premium in relation to the brightness and placement flexibility you will actually use, rather than treating the higher specification count as an automatic picture-quality win.

Choose the C2 Ultra if its specifications fit and value matters more

Your room is light-controlled and the rated output is sufficient

Hisense lists the C2 Ultra at 3,000 ANSI lumens in its US product listing retrieved October 4, 2026. If you can control room light and your planned screen size and screen gain suit the projector, you may not need to pay more for the XR10’s higher rated output. The listing figure alone cannot predict brightness in a particular setup.

Your placement fits its throw range

The C2 Ultra’s 0.9–1.5:1 throw ratio is listed in Hisense’s Australian specification PDF. Because that document is regional, check the product sheet for the country where you plan to buy. If your throw distance and desired image size fall within the applicable local specification, the XR10’s wider stated range may not be useful to you.

Do not choose a picture-quality winner from these specifications alone

Both models are presented as 4K triple-laser projectors. Hisense advertises the C2 Ultra at 110% BT.2020 color coverage on its global product page, while its XR10 US listing claims up to 6,000:1 contrast with iris. These figures describe different attributes and are manufacturer claims; they do not provide a controlled, like-for-like comparison of color, contrast, tone mapping, sharpness, or overall image quality. A conclusion that one necessarily looks better would require comparable independent testing.

Check fit before buying

  1. Measure the room. Record the distance from the planned lens position to the screen and the image width you want. Compare that geometry with the throw ratio in the specification sheet for your region.
  2. Check the lens position. Work out whether the projector can be centered and at the required height. If not, confirm that the model’s documented optical zoom and lens shift can accommodate the offset.
  3. Assess the viewing conditions. Consider ambient light, screen size, and screen gain together; lumens alone do not determine how bright an image will appear.
  4. Verify the exact regional model and current price. Hisense announced the C2 family on October 4, 2024, and the XR10 on May 10, 2026. Listings and specification documents can differ by market, so use the local product sheet and current retailer or manufacturer listing for the unit you will buy.

Which 4K projector is right for you?

Pick the XR10 if its higher manufacturer-rated brightness or wider optical placement range solves a real problem in your room and its current price fits your budget. Pick the C2 Ultra if its rated output and regional throw specification suit your setup and you would rather spend less. Neither choice can be called the picture-quality winner from the published claims alone.
