The Hisense PT1 is a 4K RGB-laser ultra-short-throw projector for viewers who want a large image close to the wall. Its strongest case is a clean, colorful picture with convincing dark-scene contrast and responsive gaming; its trade-offs include less rich-looking highlights and picture accuracy that benefits from adjustment. Check the actual screen placement, room brightness, regional streaming platform, and cost of the screen before deciding.
What the Hisense PT1 is—and how large an image it can make
Hisense positions the PT1 as an entry-level TriChroma ultra-short-throw (UST) projector, below the PX3-Pro and L9Q in its lineup. It uses an RGB laser light source and a 0.47-inch DLP micromirror chip. ProjectorCentral reports that four-way 240Hz pixel shifting produces a 4K on-screen image; this is pixel-shifted 4K, rather than a native 4K imaging chip. ProjectorCentral’s PT1 review
Hisense specifies an 80–150-inch projection range and a 0.2 throw ratio. ProjectorCentral’s placement calculation puts the lens 17 inches from the screen for a 100-inch image. That is lens-to-screen distance, not the full space the installation needs: the cabinet takes up additional room. Use the placement diagram for your intended image size and measure the cabinet, lens position, screen, and any furniture together before buying. ProjectorCentral | Hisense PT1 product page

How the picture performs
Dark scenes and color
RTINGS describes the PT1 as a compelling option for a large, clean image, with good overall contrast and rich colors. It says the projector looks best in dark scenes. That makes it a better fit for movie watching in a dim or dark room than for someone expecting the same punch in a brightly lit space. RTINGS’ Hisense PT1 review

Bright content and picture tuning
RTINGS found that the picture looks less rich in the brightest content and that the PT1 is not very accurate out of the box; tuning improves the results. If accurate color and tone are a priority, plan to spend time adjusting the picture rather than assuming the default settings will be ideal. The review unit was manufactured in July 2025; RTINGS updated its review on September 14, 2026, following its Test Bench 1.0 conversion. RTINGS

Gaming, HDR, and built-in sound
RTINGS considers the PT1 a solid gaming choice, citing low input lag at 120Hz and 240Hz. Its review does not provide a numeric input-lag result here, so those refresh-rate use cases should not be mistaken for a measured lag figure. If gaming responsiveness matters, check that your source device and chosen picture mode support the refresh rate you intend to use. RTINGS

Streaming platform and connections depend on region
RTINGS reports Google TV on US PT1 units, while some UK and European listings use VIDAA U7.6. The platform matters because app availability can vary. Confirm the operating system and the streaming services you use on the exact regional model before purchase. RTINGS notes three HDMI inputs, including an eARC port, plus USB-A, Ethernet, and optical output; check the labels and ports on the specific unit or its regional listing. RTINGS
Screen, placement, and 3D accessories
A UST projector’s very close placement makes screen selection and positioning part of the setup, not an afterthought. Hisense offers PT1 bundles with ALR (ambient-light-rejecting) screens in multiple sizes. Choose based on your target image size, room light, and the specific placement; a screen intended for one installation should not be assumed to suit every room or distance. Hisense PT1 product page

Price and availability: compare the right market and date
Prices vary by region and listing date, so the following figures are snapshots, not a universal current price. Hisense announced the US PT1 in September 2025 at a $2,999 launch price. On October 7, 2026, its US shop listing showed $1,999.99 on sale against $2,999.99 and marked the product “Sold out.” What Hi-Fi?’s review page listed £1,599, $2,199, and AU$2,500; those are its regional page references, not necessarily live retailer prices. Check the exact regional SKU, live availability, and total setup cost before purchase. Hisense’s September 2025 announcement | Hisense US shop listing | What Hi-Fi?’s review page
Who should buy the Hisense PT1?
The PT1 makes most sense for someone who can accommodate a carefully measured UST setup, watches in a room where dark-scene contrast and color can shine, and values responsive gaming. It is less compelling if you need the brightest possible image, expect highly accurate picture settings without adjustment, or have not confirmed that your regional model supports your preferred apps. Include the screen and any 3D glasses in your setup budget, and compare current local prices rather than relying on another market’s listing.
