The Hisense HRTF326S is a 326 L top-mount refrigerator with a 253 L fridge and 73 L freezer. Its listed features and dimensions make it possible to judge capacity and fit, but not real-world cooling performance: CHOICE lists a 2022 test year while keeping its expert rating and detailed results behind member access. Hisense marks the model discontinued and unavailable for purchase on its Australian product page, so do not assume it is currently in stock.
What the Hisense HRTF326S offers
Hisense describes the HRTF326S as a silver, top-mounted freezer refrigerator. Its published usable capacity is 326 L, divided into 253 L for fresh food and 73 L for the freezer. Those figures are manufacturer specifications, not a measure of how much a particular household can store in its preferred arrangement. Hisense’s product specification notes that specifications may change.
Storage layout and features
- Refrigerator: two adjustable shelves, one fixed shelf, three full-width door baskets, a covered Fresh Zone drawer, and a full-width vegetable crisper.
- Freezer: one fixed shelf and two door baskets, plus an ice tray.
- Other listed features: LED lighting, frost-free operation, a reversible door, and Multi Air Flow.
These are features listed by Hisense; they do not establish how evenly the refrigerator holds temperature or how useful the layout will be for a particular set of groceries.
Dimensions and installation clearance
The cabinet measures 595 mm wide, 650 mm deep, and 1696 mm high. Hisense specifies 50 mm of clearance at each side and at the rear, plus 100 mm above. The manual also recommends leaving room in front for the doors to open 125 degrees. Measure the full opening and door swing, including the route into the kitchen: cabinet dimensions alone do not confirm that the refrigerator will fit or be accessible.

Energy use, noise and published specifications
Hisense specifies a 3.5-star energy rating, comparative energy consumption of 313 kWh/year, and a noise level of 43 dB. These are published product figures, not independent measurements of a particular home’s energy use or noise experience. CHOICE separately lists 313 kWh/year as claimed energy use and the same 3.5-star rating; it does not make the annual-use figure a CHOICE test measurement.
The specification also lists a fixed-speed compressor, electromechanical temperature control, automatic defrost, a 220–240 V, 50 Hz supply, and an operating climate range of 10–43°C. It identifies the refrigerant as R600a, with a 34 g charge. The Hisense specification is the source for these manufacturer-listed details.

What independent testing does—and does not—establish
CHOICE identifies the HRTF326S as a small, 300–380 L freezer-on-top refrigerator tested in 2022. Its public listing also shows a 3.5-star rating, claimed energy use of 313 kWh/year, a three-year warranty, China as the country of origin, and discontinued status. The page displays $849, but that is page information—not a current offer or reliable indication of today’s value.
CHOICE’s expert rating and detailed results are member-only. The public page does not reveal the model’s temperature stability, evenness, temperature range, response to ambient temperature, heat-load performance, running cost, or detailed noise result. As a result, the public information does not support calling the refrigerator a strong or weak performer on those measures. CHOICE’s HRTF326S listing gives the visible review details.
Availability and warranty context
Hisense marks the HRTF326S discontinued and unavailable for purchase on its Australian product page. That status does not establish whether a retailer has old stock, a used unit is available, or a seller is reliable. Check the seller, condition, and warranty terms directly before making a purchase. Hisense and CHOICE list a three-year warranty, but whether it applies depends on the jurisdiction, purchase date, and applicable terms; the published listing alone does not establish current coverage.

Using and caring for the refrigerator
The HRTF326/HRTF326S operation manual recommends placing the appliance on a level, hard surface, away from direct sunlight and heat sources, with ventilation maintained. It advises using the middle temperature-control setting for normal use and not placing food against the air outlet. These are the manufacturer’s instructions, not independent test findings.

The manual states, “The refrigerant (R600a) is flammable.” This is a safety instruction to take seriously, not evidence that the model is unusually hazardous during normal use. The manual says servicing should be done by an authorized service person.

For problems such as poor cooling or unusual operation, the manual’s initial checks include confirming the power connection, leveling, ventilation clearance, unobstructed air outlets, and fully closed doors. If those checks do not resolve the issue, the manual advises against attempting repairs yourself and directs users to a qualified electrician, authorized service engineer, or seller.

How to judge it against another refrigerator
Compare alternatives using the same practical criteria rather than relying on capacity or star rating alone:
- Usable total capacity and the freezer volume specifically.
- Measured cabinet dimensions, required clearances, and door-swing space.
- The energy label and stated annual consumption, distinguishing claimed figures from independently measured results.
- Door reversibility and whether the hinge arrangement works in your kitchen.
- Shelf, door-basket, drawer, and freezer layout.
- Published independent results for temperature stability and evenness, noise, and running cost.
CHOICE identifies several of those test categories but does not publish this model’s detailed scores openly, so the available public evidence is insufficient to rank it on those performance measures.
