Hisense E7 Cinema Series Alternatives depend first on which E7 you mean: the U.S. 65-inch E7 and U.K. 65E78QTUK E7Q have different advertised specifications. For a North American buyer seeking a movie-focused alternative, the TCL QM7/QM751G is a credible 65-inch option, particularly for dark-room viewing—but its independent review also flags film-motion and accuracy weaknesses. These are the Best 65-Inch TVs for Movies supported by the available evidence, not a universal ranking: there is no like-for-like test or current local price comparison establishing one overall winner.
Identify the exact Hisense E7 before comparing TVs
“Hisense E7” is not a sufficiently specific comparison target. The name covers region-specific products, and the official U.S. and U.K. pages describe different 65-inch sets. Check the complete model number and the manufacturer page for your country before relying on a specification or retailer listing.
| Market and model | Manufacturer description and advertised specifications |
|---|---|
| United States: Hisense 65-inch E7 Series | Hisense calls it the “65" Class E7 Series Hi-QLED MiniLED 4K Fire TV” and advertises Mini-LED, Hi-QLED, Fire TV, and a native 144 Hz refresh rate. These are manufacturer descriptions and claims, not independent test measurements. Hisense U.S. product page. [c001] |
| United Kingdom: 65E78QTUK, E7Q | Hisense describes this as a QLED 4K E7Q with a 60 Hz refresh rate; its page lists HDMI ports with VRR at 60 Hz. Do not transfer the U.S. model’s advertised refresh rate or other specifications to this model. Hisense U.K. product page. [c004] |

Best 65-Inch TVs for Movies: the strongest evidenced alternative
TCL QM7/QM751G: a North American dark-room candidate
The TCL QM7, also identified as QM751G, is the most clearly supported direct alternative in the available movie-focused evidence. RTINGS describes it as a mid-range model in TCL’s 2024 North American lineup, offered in 55-, 65-, 75-, 85-, and 98-inch sizes. Its review tested the 75-inch version and says the results also apply to the 65-inch model, so this is not a direct test of the 65-inch unit. RTINGS says the QM7 is currently available only in North America and warns that similarly named regional models can perform differently; it should not be treated as interchangeable with European TCL C-series TVs. For movies in a dark room, RTINGS rates the QM7 very well: blacks stay deep next to bright highlights, while HDR brightness and color volume give highlights and colors a vivid presentation. It also removes judder from almost all sources. Those strengths make it a plausible pick for letterboxed films and high-contrast scenes, but vividness should not be confused with accurate reproduction of the filmmaker’s intended image. [c002]
Film-related compromises to weigh
- HDR accuracy: RTINGS reports that HDR EOTF tracking does not follow creator intent well. A bright, colorful image can still render brightness levels inaccurately. [c002]
- Motion: the set removes judder from almost all sources, but slow pans can still look stuttery, and fast-paced scenes can show artifacts. A high headline refresh-rate figure alone does not establish good film cadence. [c002]
- SDR accuracy: RTINGS finds SDR accuracy less than ideal before calibration. This may matter for older films or lower-dynamic-range content. [c002]
- Reflections: image color and contrast hold up fairly well in bright environments, but RTINGS finds direct-reflection handling disappointing. A bright panel does not necessarily overcome a window or lamp reflected in the screen. [c002]
- Processing: RTINGS describes processing as decent, but that does not erase the tracking and accuracy caveats. [c002]
Choose by room and movie-watching priorities
For a dark room
Prioritize black level and contrast: they are especially apparent in letterboxed films and night scenes. The QM7 has strong reported black levels. OLED is a different display technology that can produce perfect blacks, but the available evidence does not establish a specific OLED model as the best E7 substitute, so it would be misleading to name one here. For a bright room
Assess brightness and reflections separately. HDR brightness can help a picture remain vivid, but direct glare is its own problem; the QM7’s reported reflection weakness is relevant if the screen faces a window or bright light. Consider the screen’s placement and the reflections you actually see, not just its brightness claims. [c002]

Look beyond native-resolution HDR demonstrations. SDR accuracy, judder handling, slow-pan stutter, and cleanup of lower-resolution sources all affect what films look like in ordinary use. The QM7 review reports decent processing but also imperfect pre-calibration SDR accuracy and HDR tracking. [c002]

The QM7/QM751G is a credible North American 65-inch alternative when dark-room contrast and lively HDR matter, provided its motion and accuracy limitations are acceptable. This evidence does not establish a global winner against every regional E7: the E7 identity changes by market, the QM7 review’s tested set was 75 inches, and no current like-for-like local price comparison is established. Treat price, suffix, operating system, ports, and availability as market-sensitive, and compare exact local model numbers before purchase. The TechRadar 65-inch TV guide was updated August 13, 2026, but it is market context rather than a complete head-to-head test of the E7 and QM7. [c002][c004][c005]
