The 2026 Hisense CanvasTV (S7SG) is best understood as a design-led television: its matte screen, art mode, swappable frame designs, and slim wall-mounted presentation are the main reasons to consider it. RTINGS found the matte finish effective at reducing glare, but characterized the TV’s overall performance as basic. If you want a gallery-style display that also handles everyday viewing and gaming, it may fit; if picture performance is your top priority, its looks alone do not make it a standout TV.
The US lineup includes 50-, 55-, 65-, 75-, and 85-inch models. RTINGS tested the 65-inch 65S7SG, and says its results also apply to the other sizes; the five models were not independently tested. RTINGS published its review on May 25, 2026, with revisions through July 21, 2026. Hisense identifies the 55S7SG as a 4K QLED Google TV and lists all five sizes on its US product page.
What the CanvasTV is designed to do
The S7SG aims to look more like framed wall art than a conventional television when it is not being used for video. Hisense lists a matte display, art mode, swappable StyleSwap frame designs, a slim wall-mount presentation, and presence sensing. Those are manufacturer-described features; the independent review evidence chiefly supports the matte screen’s glare reduction.

In art mode, the screen can display a curated collection or personal photos. RTINGS describes the built-in selection as limited and reports that there is no paid art marketplace or subscription. It says photos can be uploaded using USB or a phone QR code. The available product information does not establish an artwork count, so it is better to judge the art experience by whether its available images and your own photos suit the room.
#1 Best Overall
- ART GALLERY: The CanvasTV transforms any room into a curated gallery experience, displaying stunning artwork and photography when you're not watching. Choose from more than 1,000 complimentary curated works across styles and eras, or display your own photos and collections. Swap collections, rotate pieces and change the mood of any room. It's not just a TV. It's a piece of art.
- Hi-Matte Display: Every detail the director intended — every shadow, every texture, every expression—comes through exactly as it should. The CanvasTV's anti-glare display eliminates reflections and distractions, so the story on screen is the only thing you see. Whether it's sunlight streaming through the window or a lamp behind the couch, the picture stays rich, clear and completely yours.
- Choose Your Frame – Teak Frame Included: Your art. Your style. Your space. The CanvasTV fits seamlessly into your home and shifts with your mood, from serene watercolors in the morning to bold abstracts in the evening. And with the included Teak Frame, it looks like a piece of art even when it's just hanging on your wall.
- Included UltraSlim Wall Mount: Designed to blend into your room — and take it over at the same time. The CanvasTV sits flush against the wall like a framed piece of art, with no bulk, no clutter and no compromise. Clean lines. Zero gap. All screen. The kind of design that makes guests stop and stare before they even realize it's a TV. And with the wall mount included, getting that perfect, gallery-worthy look has never been easier.
- 4K Hi - QLED Color: Every brushstroke. Every gradient. Every vivid hue—rendered in breathtaking 4K resolution. Whether you're watching a film or displaying a masterpiece, the CanvasTV brings color to life with a level of depth and accuracy that makes everything on screen feel real enough to reach out and touch.
RTINGS also notes that a motion sensor switches art mode on and off when a person leaves or returns, while Hisense describes presence sensing. Neither source provides a measured energy-saving figure, so treat this as an automatic display behavior rather than a quantified power-saving guarantee.
How good is it as a regular television?
RTINGS characterizes the S7 as a basic TV whose appeal is primarily aesthetic. Its review says the matte coating reduces glare effectively, a meaningful benefit in bright rooms or spaces with reflections. That result should not be mistaken for a broad claim that the CanvasTV leads in picture quality: RTINGS says it is plain in other respects and falls short of some competing gallery-style models.

For a buyer choosing between a gallery display and a conventional TV, the trade-off is straightforward: the CanvasTV gives design and glare control unusual prominence, while the available independent assessment does not position it as a performance leader. Consider your usual content, room lighting, and viewing expectations alongside its appearance.

What changes across the five sizes?
Hisense’s US listing and RTINGS identify five S7SG sizes. The review’s hands-on evidence comes from one 65-inch sample; RTINGS says its findings apply to the other sizes, but this is not five separate model tests. The sample was made in Mexico in January 2026, which describes that reviewed unit’s provenance and should not be generalized to every television.

The sources establish the size range, but not current prices, size-specific dimensions, or stock. Check those details for the exact model before choosing a size, particularly if you are fitting it to an existing wall space. Confirm that a wall mount or frame is sold separately or included, and that it is compatible with the specific S7SG size; the available official product information does not settle those points.
Gaming features and connections
Hisense lists variable refresh rate from 48 to 144 Hz, FreeSync Premium, and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). These are useful specifications for a gaming setup, but they do not make every input equivalent: RTINGS reports HDMI 2.1 bandwidth on two inputs, not on every port. Check the input layout and the connection requirements of your devices before planning a multi-console or PC setup.

Software and everyday use
RTINGS reports that its reviewed unit ran Google TV version 12 and describes that version as older than those used by many manufacturers in 2026. Software can change with updates, so this is an observation about the review unit rather than a guarantee of what a newly purchased set will run. If app features or interface freshness matter to you, verify the software version and current update status on the specific TV.
Who should consider it?
- Consider it if a framed, art-display look is central to your room and a matte screen that reduces glare is valuable.
- Look more closely at alternatives if conventional picture performance is your primary criterion; RTINGS does not describe the S7SG as a performance leader.
- Check the art experience first if you expect a large built-in gallery or a paid art catalog; RTINGS calls the included selection limited and reports no paid art marketplace or subscription.
- Verify setup details if your decision depends on exact price, mounting, frame compatibility, or which HDMI inputs support your equipment. The cited product and review details do not settle every size-specific or current retail question.
How to compare it with other art-style TVs
RTINGS names Samsung The Frame Pro 2026 and Amazon Ember Artline 2026 as comparison products, but the available evidence does not establish a same-method head-to-head winner or complete current pricing. Compare specific listings and specifications using the factors that affect your room and devices:

For this model, the clearest review anchor is the Hisense 65S7SG CanvasTV, because that is the size RTINGS tested. The review offers a useful assessment of the S7SG line, but it does not substitute for checking the exact size’s dimensions, local availability, price, and accessory fit.
