The best broad-use Mac deal reported at Amazon is the 13-inch MacBook Air M5 with 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage for $1,099. Macworld checked that price on October 6, 2026; it is $200 below the current $1,299 list price, but not a record low. If you need a Pro, the 14-inch MacBook Pro M5 with 16GB and 1TB was reported at $1,839, or $160 below its $1,999 list price. Prices and stock can change, so confirm the exact configuration and seller on Amazon before buying.
Which Amazon Mac deal is best for most buyers?
For everyday work, school, browsing and light creative tasks, the 13-inch MacBook Air M5, 16GB/512GB, is the strongest value among the documented offers. Macworld’s deal table, with prices checked October 6, 2026, listed it at $1,099 at Amazon, compared with a current $1,299 MSRP. MusicRadar also reported the same Amazon price during Big Deal Days on October 6. Macworld’s dated deal table and MusicRadar’s Big Deal Days report support the offer.
The discount puts the Air back at its former $1,099 MSRP, but Macworld’s table lists a historical low of $899.99. It is a meaningful $200 saving against current list price, not an all-time-low deal. The same table reported these additional Amazon prices and comparisons:
| Model and configuration | Reported Amazon price | Current MSRP | Historical low listed by Macworld |
|---|---|---|---|
| 13-inch MacBook Air M5, 512GB, 8-core GPU | $1,099 | $1,299 | $899.99 |
| 13-inch MacBook Air M5, 1TB | $1,399 | $1,599 | $1,099.99 |
| 15-inch MacBook Air M5, 512GB | $1,299 | $1,499 | $1,099.99 |
| 14-inch MacBook Pro M5, 16GB/1TB | $1,839 | $1,999 | $1,499 |
| 14-inch MacBook Pro M5 Pro, 1TB | $2,339 | $2,499 | $1,983.94 |
| MacBook Neo, A18 Pro, 256GB | $689 | $699 | $589.99 |

Is a MacBook Pro worth the extra cost?
The documented 14-inch MacBook Pro M5 with 16GB of memory and 1TB SSD was listed at $1,839, $160 below its $1,999 current MSRP. MusicRadar independently reported that price for a 14-inch M5 Pro, 16GB/1TB, during Big Deal Days. The naming differs between the reports, so compare the chip and full configuration on the live listing before treating them as the same model.
Macworld’s buying guidance positions the Pro for creative professionals, software developers, engineers and other power users who benefit from sustained performance, a premium display, more ports or higher memory configurations. If your workload is mostly browsing, office apps, studying or light creative work, its discount alone is not a reason to choose it over the Air. See Macworld’s MacBook Pro buying guidance.

What about the cheaper MacBook Neo?
The MacBook Neo with A18 Pro and 256GB was listed at $689, just $10 below its $699 current starting price. That makes it an entry-price alternative rather than a major discount. Apple’s US Mac page lists starting prices of $699 for Neo, $1,299 for Air and $1,999 for Pro; those are starting prices, not prices for every configuration. Check Apple’s current Mac lineup alongside the Amazon offer.

Macworld reports that Apple raised MacBook Air prices by $200 and MacBook Pro prices by $300 to $500 in June 2026. The Associated Press reported that Apple linked the increases to surges in component prices. Apple said: “we have now reached a point where we need to begin raising prices on a number of products, including today’s increases for iPad and Mac. We know this is not welcome news, and we are working tirelessly to find solutions.” The AP attributed the statement to Apple, without naming an individual speaker. Read the Associated Press report.

How to compare the deal with buying from Apple
Before checkout, verify the Amazon listing’s chip, memory, storage, condition, seller, stock and delivery date. A discounted price is only useful if it is for the configuration you want and the seller and terms suit you. Apple also lists trade-in, installment and upgrade-payment options on its Mac buying page; compare the applicable terms and total cost rather than assuming those options lower the price.
Apple Certified Refurbished is another route worth checking, particularly if the current new-Mac price is beyond your budget. Macworld notes refurbished prices may be attractive after the June increases, but no specific refurbished configuration or price is established here. Verify the live listing before comparing it with a new Amazon Mac.
