Hideo Kojima reportedly shared coverage of a fan-made Windows port of P.T., but that should not be read as an endorsement or permission to distribute it. Developer LoreanXavier describes the project as a work in progress that rebuilds the game natively for Windows using the player’s own P.T. data files. The project post gives no release date, so the port should not be treated as available to download.
What Kojima reportedly acknowledged
Contemporaneous reporting says Kojima shared an article about LoreanXavier’s project on social media. The original post was not independently retrieved, and no exact statement from Kojima is available; his intent cannot be established from the reported share alone. It is evidence of an acknowledgement, not documented praise, approval, or authorization to distribute the project or its assets. The Double Kill’s October 6, 2026 report describes the share.
What the fan-made PC port is
LoreanXavier says the project is a native Windows implementation, rather than an emulator, wrapper, or remake in another engine. The developer says they are reverse-engineering the PS4 executable and rebuilding the game logic and rendering in C++ and Vulkan. The port loads data files from a player’s own copy of P.T.; the project description says no game files are supplied. The creator’s September 30, 2026 project post is the primary source for these details.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThat distinction matters: this is not a standalone recreation with its own supplied game content. The creator’s data-file requirement also does not establish a legitimate way to obtain the delisted demo.

Reported progress and what remains unfinished
The creator says the current build covers the game from its first-boot options and preface through the ending, including the voice step. The project post also lists Lua-script support, traps, cutscenes, character animation, original audio data, controller vibration, mouse and keyboard, contemporary controllers, arbitrary resolutions, and frame rates above the original game’s 30 fps cap. A separate technical summary reports optional AMD FSR 3.1. These are project and media claims, not results of independent testing. The project’s progress details and Bloody Disgusting’s October 5, 2026 summary describe the reported features.
The developer says some lighting and material differences remain in a few rooms, some timing details need work, and side-by-side checking is continuing. The creator’s post does not give a release date. Earlier secondary coverage’s approximate completion figure is not an independently verified measure of how complete or faithful the port is.

Why there is interest in P.T.
P.T., short for “Playable Teaser,” was a free PlayStation 4 experience released in 2014 as a teaser for Silent Hills, a planned project that was later cancelled. The game was removed from the PlayStation Store after the cancellation, helping explain the interest in preservation and access. The background on P.T. and its storefront history provide basic historical context.
