Short answer: HERZ P1 doesn’t publish a setting-by-setting battery or privacy guide, so no single toggle is proven to extend the ring’s battery life. The changes that are well supported are trimming notifications to the categories you want, checking the ring’s charge in the QRing app, charging before bed, getting the fit right, and reviewing the app’s permissions and privacy disclosure on your own phone.
What HERZ documents, and what it doesn’t
HERZ advertises up to six days per charge. That is the vendor’s maximum, not an independent test result, and HERZ gives no figure for how much any individual setting adds or saves. The user guide (last updated Jan. 20, 2026) says you can personalize settings in the app and often choose which notifications to receive. It doesn’t list the switches or say every notification category can be configured.

So treat the advice below in three tiers: manufacturer-supported habits, general phone privacy hygiene, and controls whose existence isn’t confirmed.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsSettings and habits worth changing
1. Turn off notification categories you don’t want
Open the QRing companion app and enable only the call, message or app alerts you actually want on your finger. The exact menu path isn’t specified in HERZ’s guide, and labels may differ by app version, so look through the app’s settings or device page. The benefit to expect is fewer interruptions and less personal content surfacing on a wrist-adjacent device. Don’t expect a measurable battery gain, because none is documented.
#1 Best Overall
- 【Precise Compatibility】Designed to perfectly fit your specific phone model, with accurate cutouts for all buttons, ports, speakers, and cameras—no interference with functionality.
- 【Flexible TPU Material】Made from high-quality thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), offering a soft yet durable shield that resists scratches, smudges, and minor impacts.
- 【Slim & Lightweight】Ultra-thin profile maintains the original feel of your phone while providing reliable protection without the bulk.
- 【Enhanced Grip & Anti-Slip Design】Features textured sides or a matte finish to enhance grip and prevent accidental drops from slippery hands or surfaces.
- 【Minimalist Style】Clear or semi-transparent finish and black lets your phone’s design shine through, while subtle aesthetics suit both personal and professional settings.
2. Check battery in the app and charge before bed
HERZ’s sleep support article (last updated Jan. 31, 2026) says a low battery can stop sleep data from being recorded during the night. The ring’s battery status appears on the device page in QRing. If a complete overnight record matters, top up the ring beforehand. This is the one battery-related habit with direct manufacturer backing, and its payoff is data completeness rather than longer runtime.
HERZ also sells a named accessory, the HERZ P1 Rapid Charging Case, which may help if you want portable charging. Use the official case rather than assuming a generic charger is compatible; compatibility with other chargers isn’t confirmed.
3. Get the fit and sensor placement right
HERZ recommends a snug but comfortable fit on the index, middle or ring finger. For sleep tracking, the sensor should sit against the palm side of the finger. A loose or misplaced ring can cause gaps or inaccurate readings, which is a data-quality problem rather than a battery one.
4. Keep the app and firmware updated, and sync regularly
HERZ advises updating both the app and ring firmware, then opening the app after you wake to sync. The ring can store data offline for up to seven days while Bluetooth is disconnected, and HERZ recommends syncing within that window to avoid losing data.
One update-specific detail: the support article says that with firmware 1.00.04, nighttime sleep is detected between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. and naps between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., and sleep outside those windows isn’t tracked. Confirm your current firmware and any in-app prompts before relying on those times, particularly if you work nights.

Privacy: what to check on your phone
The store privacy policy isn’t the app’s health-data policy
HERZ’s published privacy policy covers its online store: purchase details such as name, address and email, plus your IP address when you browse. It states that you leave that policy when redirected to third-party sites or apps. The ring itself collects heart rate, sleep, activity and other wellness data and sends it to the QRing app, so the store policy tells you little about how that health data is collected, stored, shared or deleted.
Read the exact app listing for your platform
A Google Play listing named QRing (updated Sep. 8, 2026) declares that it may collect health and fitness data and messages, says the data isn’t encrypted, says no data is shared with third parties, and says you can request deletion. However, the listing names its own developer, and it isn’t confirmed that this listing and declaration match the app build HERZ directs you to in every region. Don’t take it as a definitive HERZ P1 finding.
- Android: before installing, open the exact listing HERZ links to and read its Data safety section.
- iPhone: check the App Privacy section on the App Store page for the current version.
- Both: grant only the permissions needed for the features you use, and review them later in your phone’s app-permission settings.
- Lock screen: hide notification previews for sensitive apps, so forwarded messages aren’t readable by someone glancing at your phone.
Controls not to count on
Nothing in HERZ’s materials confirms a toggle that stops sensor collection, cloud sync, account creation or background activity. If your version of the app shows such an option, use it, but don’t assume it exists. Likewise, no source quantifies battery gains from reducing notifications, disabling Bluetooth, changing measurement frequency or restricting background activity. Disabling Bluetooth or background access would also stop syncing and may interrupt tracking, so there is a real trade-off.
Trade-offs at a glance
| Choice | Upside | Downside | Battery benefit documented? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fewer notification categories | Fewer alerts and less exposed content | You may miss alerts | No |
| Restricting app permissions or background behavior | Less data access | Features and syncing may stop working | No |
| Charging before bed | More complete overnight sleep record | Requires a routine | Not a runtime gain; prevents low-battery gaps |
| Regular syncing | Avoids losing offline data (stored up to seven days) | Requires opening the app | No |
The Bottom Line
Prune notifications, charge before bed, fit the ring properly, keep everything updated and synced, and read the privacy disclosure and permissions for the exact QRing app you install. Anything beyond that is unverified until the current app shows a specific control.
