Hero V12 is a travel-focused homepage hero section from Colorlib, designed for holiday rentals, hotels, and real-estate sites. It pairs introductory copy and proof points with an alpine-lake photo and an overlaid stay-search form. Colorlib lists it as a free download under CC BY 3.0, with attribution required; the listing describes its implementation as HTML, CSS, and a small amount of vanilla JavaScript.
What Hero V12 includes
Colorlib’s Hero V12 listing, dated September 25, 2026, describes a split layout: headline, introduction, and three proof points sit on the left, while a large alpine-lake photograph fills the right. A white search bar overlaps the image. The template is aimed at holiday-rental, hotel, travel, and real-estate homepages rather than a general-purpose product or app landing page.
The form asks visitors for four details:
- Location
- Check-in date
- Check-out date
- Number of guests
Colorlib says the form uses native text, date, and select controls with visible labels. Its listing describes date prefilling, a rule that keeps checkout at least one night after check-in, browser validation, and a status region that reports the search. These are publisher descriptions; the downloaded files and behavior have not been independently inspected here.

Colorlib describes the download as 364 KB and says it can be used by itself or placed in a Bootstrap 4, 5, or 6 project. Its listing describes the implementation as plain HTML and CSS with a few lines of vanilla JavaScript, without jQuery, Bootstrap files, or plugins. Those are publisher claims, not independent measurements or a code audit. Because the section is presented as standalone, Bootstrap is not described as a requirement.

If you plan to use it, inspect the downloaded files for their actual structure, dependencies, and included license terms before adapting or publishing them. The listing page itself was not available for direct inspection, so details here reflect its surfaced publisher-provided description.
Is Hero V12 the right hero pattern for your site?
Its strongest fit is a page where visitors can search for a stay immediately. The photo-led split layout gives the destination visual prominence, while the form makes the main action more specific than a single generic call-to-action button. It is less obviously suited to a SaaS, agency, event, or product page, where the visitor’s next action may not involve dates, guests, and location.
Rank #2
When deciding whether to use this pattern, assess the following:
- Audience and purpose: The supplied content and search fields are oriented toward travel and accommodation.
- Composition: The text-and-photo split with an overlapping form is more visually involved than a simple headline and button.
- Conversion action: A stay-search form is useful only if your site can make the requested search actionable.
- Phone layout: Check that the image, copy, and all form controls remain readable and usable on a narrow screen.
- Implementation: Confirm what the downloaded version includes and how it fits your existing CSS and JavaScript.
These are practical selection criteria, not a measured ranking of Hero V12 against other templates. Colorlib’s hero-section collection, dated September 28, 2026, places this type of opening section alongside examples for other page purposes.
Does Bootstrap 5 still have a jumbotron?
Colorlib says Bootstrap 5 no longer includes the .jumbotron component. That does not prevent developers from making a jumbotron-like opening block: Bootstrap’s official Bootstrap 5.3 jumbotron example shows a similar treatment built with utility classes. Hero V12 is a separate optional section, not a replacement component required by Bootstrap.
How should you adapt the photo and mobile layout?
Colorlib’s collection recommends keeping text legible over photographs with an overlay and designing the phone layout intentionally. For Hero V12, check the image crop and contrast at desktop and mobile widths, and make sure the search controls do not become cramped or obscure important content. If you replace the photo, select an image that remains legible behind any overlapping elements.
Rank #4
The collection also advises considering the weight of video backgrounds and honoring reduced-motion preferences. A static visual avoids an always-loaded video background, but no independent performance, accessibility, or usability testing is established for Hero V12 itself.

Can you use Hero V12 in a commercial project?
Colorlib’s collection says its heroes are free for personal and commercial projects under CC BY 3.0, provided the credit link is kept. The page’s author, Aigars Silkalns, states: “Yes. The Colorlib heroes are free for personal and commercial projects under CC BY 3.0, as long as you keep the credit link.” Treat that as Colorlib’s description of its terms, not independent legal advice. Before publishing, check the actual downloaded asset and its included terms, and preserve the required credit link if the stated condition applies.
Colorlib separately notes that CodePen examples belong to their respective authors and have their own licenses; do not assume those examples share the terms described for Colorlib’s downloadable heroes.
