For the first hallway cupboard, try 9901. That answer is supported by three guides, although GamesRadar+ and 16 Bit World list 0199 instead. The list below gives all ten reported codes, with their landmarks and clue details so you can find the right lock as you progress.

Match each code to the named room or landmark; guides use slightly different labels for some containers. The first hallway code is the only reported conflict in the list.

Why the first hallway code is disputed
Check the plaques by the paintings: Insider Gaming explains that one shows 01 and another ’99, which supports entering 9901. GamesSpew independently reports 9901, and Games.gg lists the same code. GamesRadar+ and 16 Bit World instead publish 0199. Because published guides disagree, try 9901 first; if it does not work in your game, 0199 is the documented alternative.

How to use the clues as you explore
These locks are tied to environmental details rather than one universal clue type. Look for dates in notes and photos, plaques near paintings, tattoos, numbers on statues, VHS tapes, or markings on damaged walls. Some clues appear in separate rooms, so make a note of numbers you find before reaching a locked container.
GamesRadar+ and 16 Bit World list nine entries and omit the Sewer Cabinet code; Games.gg is the only reviewed all-code guide that includes 1512. Games.gg also reports that opening any five keypad-locked cabinets or safes unlocks the Codebreaker achievement.
