The MediaTek Helio G91 is the stronger performer in the available paired benchmark comparisons and has the more capable listed CPU and GPU designs. The Helio G36 has a higher peak CPU clock—2.2GHz versus 2GHz—but clock speed alone does not determine which chip is faster. Both are 4G platforms that support displays up to 90Hz; the phone maker decides how those capabilities are implemented.
Helio G91 vs G36 specifications
MediaTek’s platform specifications show meaningful differences in CPU design, graphics and maximum supported display resolution, alongside several shared features.
| Specification | Helio G91 | Helio G36 |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | Eight cores: Arm Cortex-A75 and Cortex-A55; maximum 2GHz | Eight Arm Cortex-A53 cores; maximum 2.2GHz |
| GPU | Arm Mali-G52 MC2; maximum 1GHz | IMG PowerVR GE8320; maximum 680MHz |
| Memory | LPDDR4X, up to 8GB; listed maximum frequency 1800MHz | LPDDR4X, up to 8GB; maximum frequency 1600MHz |
| Storage | eMMC 5.1 | eMMC 5.1 |
| Maximum listed display support | 2520 × 1080 at up to 90Hz | 2400 × 1080 at up to 90Hz |
| Camera platform support | Up to 64MP or dual 16MP configurations | Up to 50MP, 25MP at 30fps, or dual 13MP configurations |
| Connectivity | 4G, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 | 4G, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 |
These are platform capabilities, not a guarantee that a particular phone includes the maximum memory, display resolution, refresh rate or camera configuration. A chip’s image-signal processor support also does not establish the phone’s camera sensor or resulting photo quality. See MediaTek’s Helio G91 specifications and Helio G36 specifications.

Which chip is faster?
The G91 has two Cortex-A75 cores alongside six Cortex-A55 cores, while the G36 uses eight Cortex-A53 cores. The G36’s maximum stated CPU frequency is higher, but frequency is only one part of performance; it does not make the G36 faster overall. The paired benchmark results below favor the G91 in both CPU and overall scores.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
For graphics, the G91 lists a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU with a maximum frequency of 1GHz, compared with the G36’s PowerVR GE8320 at up to 680MHz. These are different GPU designs, so clock figures alone are not a direct measure of game performance. The available comparative benchmark evidence favors the G91, but actual results depend on the phone’s implementation and the workload.
What the benchmark comparisons show
Two publishers report paired results favoring the G91. Their absolute scores differ, so compare chips within the same publisher’s results rather than combining the figures or treating a score as universal.

| Benchmark | NanoReview: G91 | NanoReview: G36 | 91mobiles: G91 | 91mobiles: G36 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AnTuTu | 354,158 (AnTuTu 11; 15 reported samples) | 193,858 (AnTuTu 11; 9 reported samples) | 265,150 | 158,812 |
| Geekbench 6 single-core | 405 (fewer than 3 reported samples) | 189 (3 reported samples) | 412 | 190 |
| Geekbench 6 multi-core | 1,407 (fewer than 3 reported samples) | 781 (3 reported samples) | 1,448 | 840 |
NanoReview’s comparison reports the AnTuTu 11 scores and sample counts; its Geekbench sample counts are especially small. See NanoReview’s comparison. 91mobiles reports the other paired results on its G91 page and G36 page. The 91mobiles figures are results from devices using each chip, not a controlled test of identical phones. The benchmark pages do not establish a clear publication year for these figures; the results were accessed in 2026.
Benchmark version, handset, cooling, memory configuration and test conditions can all affect scores. For that reason, the useful conclusion is the consistent direction across these paired comparisons—not that every G91 phone will achieve a specific number or outperform every G36 phone in every task.

What the comparison means when buying a phone
If performance is the priority, the evidence points to the Helio G91. But a chipset comparison cannot settle which complete phone is the better purchase: the exact model and variant, RAM and storage configuration, screen, camera hardware, battery, software support and price all matter. For example, NanoReview lists the Xiaomi Redmi 13 4G among G91 devices, while 91mobiles lists the POCO C61 among G36 devices. Those examples do not imply that either handset will reproduce a chipset-level benchmark score.
