Yes. Pandora announced a sustainability-focused packaging redesign in 2021 and reported further sizing and assortment changes in 2025. Those updates changed materials and design priorities, but they do not establish one identical box for every market, store, or online order.
What changed in Pandora packaging?
The clearest documented change came in 2021, when Pandora announced new packaging for stores and online. The company said its jewelry boxes would contain more than 75% less plastic than the previous boxes, while carrier bags would contain no plastic. Pandora also said the new boxes used fewer materials and were easier to recycle, and that the paper used was FSC-certified. Pandora’s announcement and its 2021 Sustainability Report describe these as company-reported changes.
In its 2025 Annual Report, Pandora described additional work: adjusting package sizes, optimizing the packaging assortment for a more unified customer journey across channels, and deprioritizing higher-impact creative elements in favor of lower-impact materials. The report describes progress, not a single newly launched box with a confirmed global release date.

The 2021 percentages and annual estimate are Pandora’s own reported figures, not independently verified results. The 3,600-tonne figure was an estimate made in the 2021 report, not a current measured annual saving. Pandora’s corporate sustainable packaging page explains that its design approach seeks to balance product protection, brand experience, and sustainability.

Does every customer receive the same box?
No universal, market-by-market inventory is established by the company’s public descriptions. Pandora said the 2021 packaging was available in the US and most stores in Europe and Asia at the time, with other geographies expected to follow during 2021 and 2022 as existing stock ran down. That historical rollout statement does not confirm exactly which packaging is now in circulation at every location.
Order configuration can also affect what arrives. Pandora’s US gift-packaging page describes an optional gift service with an individual jewelry box, a 100% recyclable gift bag, and an optional printed message. For orders without gift packaging, multiple items may be grouped in one box without a gift bag or note. These details apply to the US online offer described on the Pandora US gift-packaging page; terms and packaging may differ in other countries or sales channels.

What the changes mean for the presentation
The evolution is not simply a switch from one recognizable luxury box to another. The documented priorities combine less plastic and material use with package sizing, assortment, product protection, and a consistent customer experience across channels. In 2025, Pandora said it had not set a new packaging-specific target and planned to investigate suitable targets in 2026, so the report should not be read as establishing a new numerical goal.
