Secondary market-data providers reported that JSW Cement Limited’s 50-day moving average crossed below its 200-day moving average around 5 October 2026. That meets the usual definition of a death cross, a lagging chart signal that describes past prices—not proof that the share price will fall.

What happened to JSW Cement’s moving averages?

ProfitGuruOnline, using NSE end-of-day files through 5 October 2026, reported a 50-day simple moving average (SMA) of ₹124.25 and a 200-day SMA of ₹124.34, and said the crossover occurred on the last trading day. Flash Finance’s 5 October screener also listed JSW Cement among shares whose 50-day average had crossed below the 200-day average within the previous five sessions, with the same rounded values. ProfitGuruOnline and Flash Finance are secondary data sources; the NSE filing identifies the company and its listing details but does not confirm the chart event.

Other providers show different average levels. Investing.com’s technical snapshot dated 2 October 2026 listed a 50-day simple average of ₹114.22 and a 200-day simple average of ₹119.94. Those figures also put the shorter average below the longer one, but they should not be combined with the 5 October readings as if they were one continuous data series. The available information does not establish why the providers’ calculations differ. Investing.com

What a death cross means

Flash Finance defines the event this way: “A Death Cross occurs when the 50-day simple moving average moves from at or above the 200-day average to below it.” The screener’s methodology distinguishes the crossing event from the continuing condition in which the 50-day line remains below the 200-day line. The two averages can remain in that arrangement after the cross has happened.

Traders often read the pattern as bearish because the shorter-term average has weakened relative to the longer-term average. But both averages are calculated from previous prices, so the crossover can appear after a decline is already under way. Flash Finance notes that a crossover may confirm a trend has lasted long enough to shift the averages, but cannot pinpoint when the move began or establish the direction of the next return. It is not, by itself, a price forecast or a buy-or-sell instruction. Flash Finance’s explanation

How to read the reported figures

  • 5 October 2026 readings: ProfitGuruOnline and Flash Finance each reported ₹124.25 for the 50-day average and ₹124.34 for the 200-day average. Their reported values are rounded provider figures, not company-reported financial results. ProfitGuruOnline Flash Finance
  • 2 October 2026 readings: Investing.com listed ₹114.22 for the 50-day simple average and ₹119.94 for the 200-day simple average. Investing.com
  • What the disagreement permits: The dated snapshots support the below-200-day alignment, but not a single definitive set of average levels or an explanation for the difference. The sources’ calculation conventions and adjustment methods are not established here.

For a fresh reading, compare values from the same provider and observation date, and check that the chart uses the same average type and price-adjustment method. Moving-average readings change with each trading session.

Which company and ticker does the signal refer to?

The issuer is JSW Cement Limited, listed on the NSE under the symbol JSWCEMENT and on the BSE with scrip code 544480. An NSE-hosted integrated filing describes its single segment as cement and cement-related products. That filing establishes the issuer’s identity; it is not confirmation of the moving-average crossover. NSE filing
