What the HRF422TW1 offers
The model-specific specification sheet hosted by Appliances Online identifies the HRF422TW1 as a white top-mount fridge/freezer with a total gross capacity of 422L. That capacity is divided between a 281L refrigerator and a 141L freezer. These are gross figures from the Haier HRF422TW1 specification sheet; usable storage can differ from gross capacity.
The top-mount layout places the freezer above the refrigerator. The sheet lists three adjustable safety-glass shelves, spill-proof shelves, door shelves with a dairy cover, and a large humidity-controlled crisper. An LED lighting tower is also listed.

Cooling and controls
The specifications list frost-free operation for both compartments and separate thermostats for the refrigerator and freezer. Haier describes multi-directional airflow as intended to provide even cooling; that is a stated design feature, not an independently verified performance result.

Dimensions and installation fit
The published external dimensions are 1724 mm high × 723 mm wide × 694 mm deep, according to the model specification sheet. Treat these as appliance dimensions, not the full space required for installation. Door swing and clearance can require additional room.
The instruction-manual listing advises placing the refrigerator on a strong, level floor, adjusting the feet if necessary, and leaving sufficient clearance behind and beside the unit for door opening and noise reduction. Exact clearance measurements were not established here. Find the model guide through Haier Australia’s user-manual finder or ask Haier for the installation dimensions before deciding whether it fits.

The specification sheet lists a three-star energy rating. It does not provide an annual energy-consumption figure, so this rating alone is not enough to calculate running costs or compare electricity use directly with another refrigerator.
The product sheet lists a two-year parts-and-labour warranty. Haier Australia describes a two-year manufacturer warranty for new products, while its additional 10-year compressor warranty is parts-only and limited to models on its qualifying list. The HRF422TW1 is not listed as eligible, so do not assume it receives that extended compressor cover. Check the current Haier Australia warranty terms; coverage and rights depend on purchase date, jurisdiction and applicable terms.

Reviews and reliability evidence
ProductReview.com.au labels the model discontinued and, as accessed on 7 October 2026, showed 24 reviews and a 3.3 rating. The page contains both positive and negative owner accounts, including reports about sealing, water, mould and broken shelves. These reports can suggest points to inspect on a particular unit, but they do not establish a defect rate or show that all units have the same problems.

Is the HRF422TW1 discontinued, and can you still buy one?
ProductReview.com.au labels the HRF422TW1 discontinued. That makes remaining stock or second-hand listings possible, but current availability and pricing have not been verified. One Appliances Online page has a title referring to HRF422TW1 while its specification fields identify HRF422TS1, a related variant. Do not treat those fields as proof of HRF422TW1 stock or features; confirm the model code on the appliance and the seller’s invoice or listing.
