The Haier HCI905FTB4 is a 90cm, five-zone induction cooktop with a Flexi Zone that combines two cooking areas, plus SmartHQ connectivity and a Bluetooth link to compatible Haier rangehoods. Its published specifications make the layout and dimensions clear; publicly available independent performance data does not support a firm verdict on how well it cooks. The key buying checks are whether it fits your bench and electrical supply, whether its zone arrangement suits your cookware, and whether its connected features are useful to you.
What the Haier HCI905FTB4 offers
Haier describes the HCI905FTB4 as a black-glass 500 Series induction cooktop with five cooking zones. Two zones can pair to form a Flexi Zone, intended for larger cookware such as a roasting dish or griddle. The official product page lists multi-slider touch controls, more than nine heat settings, boost, a timer, pause, child lock, overheat and overspill alerts, and residual-heat indicators. These are manufacturer-listed features, not independently verified performance findings.
The published zone ratings are:
| Zone | Rated power | Boost power |
|---|---|---|
| Centre | 2300W | 3000W |
| Left front | 2000W | 2600W |
| Left rear | 1500W | 2000W |
| Right front | 1500W | 1800W |
| Right rear | 2000W | 2600W |
| Flexi Zone | not stated | 3500W |
Haier’s specifications list individual zone figures and a 3500W boost rating for the flexible zone. CHOICE lists the cooktop’s maximum capacity as 7.4kW. Those figures describe published power ratings; they do not establish real-world boiling speed, low-heat control or how power is shared when several zones are in use. Haier’s HCI905FTB4 specifications and CHOICE’s public model page provide the published figures.

Five zones provide room to run several pans at once, while the paired Flexi Zone is the defining layout feature for cookware that does not sit neatly over one standard zone. Before choosing it for a griddle or roasting dish, consider the cookware’s size and shape and whether it is suitable for induction. CHOICE lists a minimum usable pan diameter of 14cm on four zones and 24cm for the Flexi Zone.
#1 Best Overall
- HIGH EFFICIENCY - ChangBERT Induction cooktop offers 9 preset power levels (200-1800W) and 18 preset temperature settings (120-460℉, 20F per level). With an 83% energy efficiency rating, the induction cooker is more efficient than traditional gas or electric stoves, providing quick heat-up and faster cooking times.
- CONSISTENTLY STABLE HIGH-POWER OUTPUT - Built for constant use, it features continuous-duty circuitry for non-stop cooking. The unique power control technology ensures stable high-power output, reduces the temperature of internal electronics, and facilitates low-noise heat dissipation, providing reliable cooking performance. This dependable performance sets it apart from others.
- LARGE COOKING AREA - Features an expanded magnetic coil design that optimizes the winding structure to enhance the transfer of electromagnetic energy directly to the cookware, significantly improving heating efficiency and ensuring more even heat distribution across the bottom of the cookware.
- NSF CERTIFIED & COMMERCIAL GRADE - UL commercial standard 197, completely ETL & NSF approved. It meets industry durability standards, passing a drop test with an impact of 1.5 ft lbs. Designed for large-volume usage, it is ideal for commercial and professional settings such as restaurants, industrial kitchens, and other catering services.
- EASY TO CONTROL & CLEAN - The control buttons with solid tactile response make operation intuitive and precise. With simple and clear display, the Key-Press-Control Panel provides clear visibility and easy control, even with gloves or wet hands. With no open flame or heating element, food does not burn onto the glass cooktop, making it easy to clean greasy dirt.
Haier lists boost on each zone and more than nine heat settings, but those specifications alone cannot tell you how reliably the cooktop holds a very low simmer or how quickly it heats a particular pan. CHOICE’s detailed cooking performance results are not publicly visible, so a comparative performance judgment would go beyond the accessible evidence.
Smart features and rangehood linking
Haier lists Wi-Fi and SmartHQ app control for the cooktop. It also describes a hood-to-hob function: Bluetooth pairs the cooktop with a compatible Haier rangehood, which can match extraction to cook-zone power. Haier’s quick reference guide dated 17 April 2026 describes the product’s controls and connections.

- PORTABLE INDUCTION BURNER: Duxtop induction cooktop uses 110/120 V 15 amp electrical outlet–standard in all North American homes. ETL listed and built to North American electrical standards. It is lightweight and compact for easy handling and storage
- Choose from 20 preset power levels (100 to 1800 W) and 20 preset temperature level settings (100 °F to 460 °F). With an 83% energy efficiency, induction burner is more efficient than traditional gas or electric stoves
- DIGITAL LCD SENSOR: Touch control panel: child safety lock keeps the cooking and timer settings from being accidentally changed once they have been set; fast boil button; keep warm button (for 1-30 minutes at 140 °F); up to 10-hour timer button
- Induction stoves rely on cookware to heat, so it’s essential to choose magnetic bottom cookware with a minimum diameter of 5 inches. Auto-pan detection will shut off automatically after 60 seconds if no cookware, or the incorrect cookware is detected
- Although induction itself is a noiseless process, there may be high pitched sounds from the cookware due to multiple layers of metals sandwiched together. Please allow the induction cooker to cool down before cleaning
If you are buying the cooktop for automatic hood operation, confirm that your exact rangehood model is compatible before purchase. The listed connectivity does not establish compatibility with every Haier hood or other brands, nor does it mean app control is necessary for ordinary cooktop operation.

Price, warranty and model identification
Haier’s Australian product page displayed an RRP of AUD 1,699 when accessed in 2026. That is a time-sensitive listed RRP, not a verified current street price. Check the live price and availability for your location; an Appliances Online Australia exact-model listing was also available in the source set, but stock and delivery terms can change. CHOICE publicly lists a two-year warranty for this model; confirm the applicable warranty terms and service arrangements at purchase.
Check the full model suffix when comparing products. Haier’s 90cm 600 Series HCI905FTB3 is a separate cooktop with different listed features and power figures; its specifications should not be attributed to the HCI905FTB4. Haier’s HCI905FTB3 product page identifies that distinct model.
Quick Recap
Who should consider the HCI905FTB4?
