Les championnats du monde de judo 2026 se déroulent à Bakou, en Azerbaïdjan, du 4 au 11 octobre. France Judo a annoncé une sélection de 16 judokas, avec Clarisse Agbégnénou en -63 kg. La championne, de retour sur les tatamis après une deuxième grossesse, arrive sur cette échéance avec un bronze décroché à Lausanne. L’objectif de quatre titres, lui, est celui du président de la fédération : les combats de Bakou restent à venir.
Quand et où suivre les Mondiaux de judo 2026 ?
La compétition est programmée du 4 au 11 octobre à la National Gymnastics Arena de Bakou. France Judo annonce plus de 600 judokas représentant plus de 90 pays. Bakou accueille les championnats du monde pour la deuxième fois, après l’édition de 2018.
Le programme prévoit deux catégories par jour — une féminine et une masculine — puis l’épreuve par équipes mixtes le 11 octobre. Les horaires détaillés et les modalités de retransmission ne sont pas établis dans les informations publiées ici ; mieux vaut consulter les mises à jour officielles à l’approche des combats.

Quelle équipe de France est annoncée ?
La sélection officielle publiée par France Judo le 25 septembre compte 16 judokas. L’article fédéral du 2 octobre indique par ailleurs le forfait de Teddy Riner sur blessure. Il faut distinguer cette sélection du groupe de 17 combattants conviés au media day mentionné dans ce même article : les deux chiffres ne décrivent pas le même ensemble.
La liste complète des sélectionnés et de leurs catégories figure dans la sélection officielle de France Judo. Clarisse Agbégnénou y est annoncée en -63 kg. Les informations disponibles ne permettent pas de retranscrire avec certitude ici toutes les associations entre athlètes et catégories.

Pourquoi Clarisse Agbégnénou est-elle un repère pour les Bleus ?
France Judo rappelle qu’Agbégnénou compte six victoires aux championnats du monde, obtenues entre 2014 et 2023. Son expérience donne un point de repère à une équipe qui aborde une compétition importante, mais son palmarès passé ne préjuge pas du résultat à Bakou.
Un retour marqué par le bronze à Lausanne
Fin août, Agbégnénou a remporté le bronze en -63 kg au Grand Chelem de Lausanne. France Judo décrit cette compétition comme son retour cinq mois après son deuxième accouchement. Ce résultat constitue une étape datée avant Bakou, et non une garantie sur l’issue des Mondiaux.

Le compte rendu des résultats de Lausanne est disponible auprès de France Judo. La fédération a également publié un bilan de la compétition et de la préparation avant Bakou. Frédérique Jossinet, manager des équipes de France, y explique : « À partir de maintenant, nous allons entrer dans l’affinage, avec de nombreux éléments en notre possession au regard de ces trois jours de compétition. »

Stéphane Nomis, président de France Judo, a formulé l’ambition de l’équipe ainsi : « Les quatre médailles d’or sur ces championnats du monde, j’y crois fermement. » Il s’agit de son objectif pour les Bleus, pas d’une prévision indépendante ni d’un bilan de compétition. France Judo présente Bakou comme le premier grand rendez-vous du cycle menant aux Jeux de Los Angeles 2028.

L’aperçu fédéral mentionne aussi un barème de classement pour l’épreuve : 2 000 points pour chacun des quatorze champions du monde, 1 400 pour les finalistes battus et 1 000 pour les médaillés de bronze. Ces valeurs sont celles indiquées par France Judo pour les Mondiaux de Bakou ; elles ne changent pas la distinction entre ambitions annoncées et résultats à venir.
