GTA 6 surrounds its fictional state of Leonida with invented businesses, products and signs instead of relying on real-world brand partnerships. That choice makes the commercial landscape part of the setting’s identity—and a natural vehicle for the series’ satire. “The real star” is an editorial take, not a claim that brands dominate the game or its gameplay.
Does GTA 6 have real brands?
The names identified in Rockstar’s official GTA VI listing and promotional footage are fictional in-world brands. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has also described the series’ brands as made up. In GamesRadar’s report of his remarks at the iicon conference, Zelnick said: “it’s a fictional world and everything in it is fictional. So we don’t have, for example, we’re not even at risk of doing brand partnerships because all the brands are made up. And I think that keeps us pure.” This is a reported executive quote, not a Rockstar-written statement or a verified transcript: GamesRadar’s report.
That does not mean every brand has an officially confirmed real-world counterpart. Rockstar’s listing and footage show names; they do not provide an authoritative guide to which real companies, if any, inspired each one. Comparisons to real products or platforms should be treated as interpretation, not confirmed parody targets.

Rockstar’s official product listing names several in-world businesses and products, including Rideout Customs, Sara’s Unisex Salon, Shitzu Squalo, Stock 305 Clothing Store and Vapid vehicles. Promotional footage also shows readable signs and product names. A fan-maintained catalog identifies examples and timestamps, but its identifications are not an official Rockstar catalog: ViceCityDB’s trailer signage catalog.

| Example | Category | What the evidence establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Pißwasser | Drink | The fan catalog identifies a banner in Trailer 1 at 1:08. |
| OfficialPOACH | Social platform or service | The fan catalog identifies the name in Trailer 1 at 0:42; the name alone does not establish its gameplay role. |
| “IT CURES EMOTIONS!” | Medicine or health-product advertising | The fan catalog identifies the slogan in Trailer 1 at 1:00; it does not establish a specific product or real-world target. |
| Leonida Marine Center | Marine business | The fan catalog identifies the sign in Trailer 2 at 0:41. |
| Rideout Customs, Sara’s Unisex Salon, Shitzu Squalo, Stock 305 Clothing Store and Vapid vehicles | Automotive, personal care, retail and vehicles | These names appear in Rockstar’s official product listing. |
The official listing is available at Rockstar’s GTA VI store page. Rockstar has not published a complete brand catalog, and trailer appearances do not by themselves confirm a business’s gameplay function, story importance or final in-game details. For evidence notes on interpreting brand sightings, see GTAFinder’s unofficial database.
Why invented brands make the setting feel more complete
A believable commercial landscape needs more than storefronts: it needs names, signs and products that seem to belong to the same place. Fictional brands let Leonida have that visual vocabulary without asking the audience to recognize a real company first. A roadside banner, vehicle badge or shop sign can make the setting feel commercially busy while reinforcing its own fictional identity.
They also give satire room to work. A deliberately exaggerated name or slogan can evoke the tone of advertising without directly making a claim about a real company. That is an interpretation of what the approach enables, not a statement of Rockstar’s confirmed artistic intent. Zelnick’s reported comments support the narrower point that Take-Two views the brands as fictional and says the company avoids brand partnerships because of that.

How to distinguish a sighting from a confirmed parody
- Visible name: A word or sign can be read in official footage, sometimes with a timestamp in a fan catalog.
- Officially listed name: Rockstar includes the business or product in its own store listing.
- Real-world comparison: A viewer may see a resemblance to a real brand, but that does not prove the company was the intended target.
- Gameplay claim: A trailer sighting does not establish whether something is usable, visitable, central to a mission or present in the final game.
Keeping these categories separate avoids turning a plausible comparison into a supposed fact. The evidence cited here supports examples of fictional names, not a definitive map of their inspirations or a complete inventory of brands.
What is officially known about GTA 6’s release
Rockstar’s August 27, 2026 announcement says its “Extended Look” footage was captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5 and gives a release date of November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The official product listing likewise identifies Rockstar Games as developer and publisher and lists those platforms and date. See Rockstar’s announcement and the product listing.

Official merchandise is a separate matter
Rockstar’s own store currently lists a “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection,” described as a premium Collector’s Box inspired by the in-game TV show Macca the Gator: Rockstar Store. That establishes the existence of official themed merchandise; it does not establish a third-party brand partnership or affiliate arrangement.
