A reported Costco offer could make a U.S. PlayStation 5 preorder of Grand Theft Auto VI’s Ultimate Edition cost about 20% less in effective terms: GamingBible reported a $100 PlayStation gift card for $79.99 and a $99.99 game price. That is a saving from discounted store credit—not a Rockstar price cut or a coupon applied to the game. GamingBible said the offer was expected to run through October 11, 2026, unless it sold out sooner; availability and terms may have changed.

How the reported 20% saving is calculated

GamingBible reported on October 6, 2026, that Costco was selling a $100 PlayStation gift card for $79.99, alongside a stated $99.99 price for the PS5 Ultimate Edition preorder. The comparison is:

#	Product	Price
1	$100 PlayStation Store Gift Card [Digital Code]	$100.00	Buy on Amazon
2	$25 PlayStation Store Gift Card [Digital Code]	$25.00	Buy on Amazon
3	$50 PlayStation Store Gift Card [Digital Code]	$50.00	Buy on Amazon
4	$10 -PlayStation Store Gift Card [Digital Code]	$10.00	Buy on Amazon
5	$75 PlayStation Store Gift Card [Digital Code]	$75.00	Buy on Amazon

Stated game price: $99.99.
Price paid for $100 in PlayStation credit: $79.99.
Difference: $20, or about 20% of the stated game price.

The saving is an effective-cost comparison: you buy discounted credit and use it toward the preorder. It does not mean the game’s checkout price is reduced to $79.99. The calculation assumes the card can be redeemed for the intended PlayStation Store purchase and that the reported game price applies to your account and region.

What to check before buying a gift card

Confirm the retailer still has the offer and check its terms. GamingBible said the Costco promotion was expected to end October 11, 2026, but could sell out earlier. That reported end date does not confirm current stock.
Check that the card’s country and currency match the PlayStation account you plan to use. Confirm the card can be redeemed for the preorder before purchasing.
Verify the current Ultimate Edition price and preorder availability in the PlayStation Store for your region. The $99.99 price is the figure GamingBible reported, not a live price confirmation.
Compare the card’s actual purchase price with the credit it provides. A discounted denomination is useful only if its terms and your intended transaction line up.

How the UK examples and Xbox mention differ

GamingBible also reported a 10% discount on a £100 PlayStation Store gift card at Loaded and 7% off a £90 Xbox gift card. These are separate UK examples, not confirmation that the U.S. Costco offer is available in the UK or that the U.S. price calculation applies there. The article did not establish an equivalent Xbox preorder price or savings calculation, so do not transfer the PS5 arithmetic to Xbox Series X/S.

What the Ultimate Edition reportedly includes

GamingBible described the Ultimate Edition as including the base game plus in-game cosmetics, vehicles, and stores. Its examples included the ’95 Grotti Cheetah, Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers, Vice City Style Cosmetics, Jason’s Safehouse Vehicles, Shitzu Squalo, and Classic Car Collection. Check the current store listing for the complete and applicable contents before choosing an edition.

The article also said Standard Edition buyers would be eligible to upgrade after launch for a fee, but that the fee had not been confirmed. Do not treat the gift-card comparison as a free Ultimate Edition upgrade: it concerns the effective cost of buying the reported Ultimate Edition preorder with discounted credit.

Release and preload dates reported by GamingBible

GamingBible reported a November 19, 2026 launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and said preorder customers could preload from November 12. Those dates were not independently verified against an official publisher announcement here, so check current platform-store or Rockstar information before relying on them.

What the deal does—and does not—establish

The reported numbers describe one U.S. PlayStation example published by GamingBible on October 6, 2026. They do not establish current retailer inventory, universal eligibility, availability in other countries, an Xbox equivalent, or a direct reduction in Rockstar’s game price. Treat the UK card discounts, edition details, and timing information as that article’s reporting as well, and verify live terms and product details with the retailer and platform store.
