Newly reported leaked footage of Grand Theft Auto VI reportedly shows first-person gameplay during both driving and on-foot sequences. That is not an official feature announcement: the October 9, 2026 report says Rockstar had not confirmed whether first-person mode will be available at launch.
What the reported leak appears to show
A report published October 9, 2026 says CYBERLEEK posted approximately 25 minutes of GTA VI footage. The report describes first-person driving and on-foot views, alongside character customization, cutscenes, and other gameplay. These are descriptions of leaked material, not features Rockstar has publicly confirmed. Read the October 9 report.
What first-person gameplay would mean
In a first-person view, the player sees the game world from the character’s perspective rather than from a camera positioned outside and behind the character. The report describes that perspective in both driving and on-foot sequences, but does not establish how the mode would work, whether players could switch views freely, or what options the finished game will include.
Why the footage does not confirm a launch feature
The footage is reported to be leaked development material, and Rockstar has not confirmed first-person mode for launch. Content shown during development can change before release, so the reported scenes do not establish that the feature will ship or remain in the final game. Separate coverage of an earlier, different leak makes the same general caution about treating in-development footage as final: the earlier leak report and its development-footage caveat. That earlier leak should not be confused with the October 9 footage.

What is known about GTA 6’s release
Coverage of the earlier leak listed PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and a scheduled release date of November 19, 2026. That date and platform information comes from secondary reporting about the earlier leak, not an official schedule confirmed by the October 9 report. Check Rockstar’s current announcements before relying on release details.
