The Grand Theft Auto VI mural in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, was reported as nearly complete on October 8, 2026. It sits at the corner of Wythe Avenue and North 11th Street and is painted by freelance muralist u/Omfish, who has said it is temporary. The artist said the team hoped to finish on Friday, October 9, 2026, if the work stayed on plan. No source available at the time of writing confirms that the mural is finished.
Where is the GTA 6 mural?
The mural is on the corner of Wythe Avenue and North 11th Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Notebookcheck, which reported on the wall on October 8, 2026, also notes that the site was reportedly used for promotion of Grand Theft Auto V in 2013, so the location has an earlier link to Rockstar marketing.

What the mural shows
The artwork depicts the Grand Theft Auto logo, the characters Jason and Lucia, and palm trees. According to Notebookcheck’s account of the work’s progress, the early stage was an outline, and colour was added later.

The mural is painted by the freelance muralist who posts as u/Omfish on Reddit. In a post in r/GTA6 around October 7, 2026, the artist described working as a freelance muralist through Colossal Media. The mural is therefore produced through Colossal, based on the artist’s own account. Available reporting does not establish the contracting chain between Rockstar, Colossal, and the individual artist, so the artist should not be described as contracted directly by Rockstar.

Schedule and completion status
The artist’s own estimate, reproduced by GTAVice.net on October 8, 2026, was: “Takes 1-2 weeks of 8-10hr days.” This describes this one project as the artist experienced it. It is not an industry average or an independent measurement.
The finish date was offered as a hope, not a commitment. The artist wrote: “Friday, if we can lock in 🤞.” The table below separates what has been reported from what has not been confirmed.

How long it will stay up
The artist says the mural is not permanent. The statement, as reproduced by GTAVice.net, reads: “Oh this is NOT permanent at all. This will be gone probably before the release date tbh. We paint full time so these ads stay up a month or so.” The removal timing therefore follows the length of the campaign rather than a published date, and no removal date has been announced. The “about a month” figure is the artist’s estimate of how long such ads typically remain, not a measured average.
What Colossal and Rockstar have said
GTA BOOM reported on October 6, 2026, that Colossal Media had confirmed its role in the campaign. The company’s statement reads: “Twenty-two years ago, we painted our first campaign with our very first client, @rockstargames,” and “Two decades later, we’re back at it for GTA 6. From Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in 2004 to GTA 6 in 2026, tradition continues.” The 22-year gap is Colossal’s own description of the time between its 2004 and 2026 Rockstar campaigns. It is not an independently verified figure.
Notebookcheck reported on October 8, 2026 that Rockstar had not announced the extra screenshots, gameplay footage, or trailer that some fans had speculated might follow the mural. Until Rockstar makes an announcement, those expectations remain speculation.

No official print, replica, or collectible of the mural appeared in the reporting, so the artwork itself is not available for purchase. Notebookcheck mentions an Amazon preorder listing for the game. The coverage does not establish which platform or edition that listing covers, or whether it is currently available, so check the live listing directly before ordering.
