The best-rated trait in Grand Blue depends on which guide you read, but one name appears in the top tier of both recent lists: Gaudy. Beyond that, the rankings diverge. Which traits rank highest right now
Two guides published in September 2026 give the clearest current picture. Roblox Den’s guide, written by Franco Abrina and published September 18, 2026, places four traits in S tier. Pro Game Guides’ guide, published September 15, 2026, places five traits in S tier. They overlap on one trait only.

Because the lists disagree, the practical question is not “which trait is best” but “best for what.” A trait that a guide places in S tier may be strong for one goal and weak for another. The sections below separate the traits by what they actually do.

What the top-rated traits do
The descriptions below come from the guides themselves. They are the publishers’ reading of each trait, not verified game mechanics, so check the in-game text before relying on a specific number.
Gaudy
Gaudy appears in S tier in both guides. Roblox Den describes it as providing an extra accessory slot, which is a utility benefit rather than a combat one. Pro Game Guides keeps it in S tier, but the summary reviewed does not give the same description, so the reason for its placement there should be read in that guide.
Limit Breaker and Prodigy
Roblox Den lists Limit Breaker in S tier and describes it as granting an extra skill upgrade. Prodigy, also in Roblox Den’s S tier, is described as an experience boost. Limit Breaker is a combat-oriented pick and Prodigy is a progression pick, so they should not be compared on the same scale.

Man of Steel
Roblox Den describes Man of Steel as helping a character resist interruption from small attacks. Its value is defensive and situational: it matters most in fights where small hits would otherwise break your rhythm.
Copycat
Pro Game Guides places Copycat in S tier. It lets you copy an opponent’s qualifying skill, but only if the opponent actually uses one. Its value therefore depends on the opposing player’s behavior, which makes it unreliable against passive opponents.
Maniac
Pro Game Guides describes Maniac as giving a damage and damage-reduction bonus below half health, with a damage penalty above half health. It is a strong pick for a fight you expect to end at low health, and a weak one for a fight you expect to open at full health.

Battle Tempo
Battle Tempo rewards sustained aggression, according to Pro Game Guides, and can lose its accumulated value. It suits players who keep up pressure throughout a fight and is a poor fit for cautious or hit-and-run play.

Glass Cannon raises damage dealt while increasing damage taken. Pro Game Guides places it in S tier, but the trade-off is the whole point: it favors players who win trades quickly and punishes those who do not.
Pyromaniac
Pro Game Guides presents Pyromaniac as a burn-focused pick that works best with a build built around burn effects. Without that build, it has little to offer, so judge it only by how well your overall setup supports burns.

How to judge a trait for your own play
Sportskeeda’s guide, last modified October 3, 2026, states that its ranking weighs usefulness, consistency, combat value, and progression benefits, and notes that rerolls are limited. Those are sensible axes, and they are the ones this article uses to organize the traits above. Judge each trait on five points:
- Direct combat impact: Does it change damage, speed, or how fights are won?
- Defensive value and reliability: Does it keep you in fights, and does it work every time, or only when an opponent cooperates?
- Build or matchup conditions: Does it need a specific health state, a specific opponent action, or a specific build such as burn?
- Progression or farming utility: Does it speed up leveling or give an extra slot that improves your long-term setup?
- Opportunity cost: If rerolls are limited, what would you give up by spending one on this trait?
Keep or reroll: a decision framework
Use the following questions in order. Stop at the first answer that settles the decision.

- Does the trait fit the content you play most? A combat trait is a poor keep if you mostly level. A progression trait is a poor keep if you mostly fight.
- Does it work without an opponent’s help? Copycat is the clearest example of a trait that depends on the other player. If it needs cooperation you cannot count on, treat it as conditional.
- Does it need a specific build or health state? Maniac, Battle Tempo, Glass Cannon, and Pyromaniac all depend on how you fight. Keep them only if your normal play matches the condition.
- Is it better than what a reroll might give you? Because rerolls are limited in the game as described by Sportskeeda, a trait that is only slightly better than average is usually worth keeping rather than spending a scarce reroll to chase a marginal upgrade.
Why rarity should not decide your pick
Gamezebo’s guide cautions that even Mythic traits can be subjective in value. A higher rarity label does not prove that a trait is more useful for your play style. Judge the effect and the condition first, and treat rarity as a secondary detail.

No official Grand Blue trait database or developer ranking was established in the sources reviewed. Every tier above belongs to the guide that published it. Game mechanics and rankings can change with updates, so check the live game’s trait descriptions and the publication date of any guide before you reroll. Rarity odds appear in some guides, but the figures reviewed were not confirmed against a primary source, so this article does not repeat them.
